re: Jaguar XE/ C-X16 concept. EDIT : Going to production as the F-TYPE

On the looks..
Love the tail on that one. Very reminiscent of Jags of old.
Dislike bright red interiors, very loud look for a Jag. Requires some level of subtlety.
Dislike overall body thickness. Since this is still a concept hope they make it thinner on the production model.
Overall it would seem they are intentionally moving away from the Gentleman's club if they do decide to retain most of what the concept is in the final production model.
Thanks for posting this Bimster.

This is lip smacking stuff. But will there ever be a production model based on this concept? The last concept jaguar showcased was an electric concept car[forgot the name. Can anyone recall it? It was showcased in top gear, probably season 16 or 17] which they said would not be followed by a production model, atleast not in the near future. I seriously hope that Jaguar puts this in showrooms across the world.

Great looking car! Jaguars always are!

I initially thought that this would replace the XK, which frankly, is getting a bit old now. However, it still looks great and has recently undergone a minor face-lift.

But I don't think this would replace the XK. The video title says 'Compact Sports Car'. It might be positioned a segment lower than the XK. Perhaps, aimed squarely at the Porsche Cayman and the BMW Z4.

Very aston-esque!
as is the case with most cars in this segment now.
Still, cant deny its something to look at.
Like JC said, "if your significant other looked like uma thurman, would you complain?"

Respect. Trust Jag to come out with some of the most radical designs and give an edge to every segment.

What's up with the cx75?

My pleasure puneet
I this concept is very close to the production model and looks absolutely gorgeous! Hopefully this will help Jagaur with its image if not numbers.

Jayabusa, CX-75 is also heading in to production-minus the turbines.

Here are some press pictures, info from JagUSA and an interview Callum.
Enjoy!

Jaguar is soon gonna regain its crown of making the most beautiful cars in the world! Beautiful designs coming from none other than Ian Callum.

re: Jaguar XE/ C-X16 concept. EDIT : Going to production as the F-TYPE

Jaguar has gone for an aggressive look with the C-X16. While it looks great from a few angles, the oomph factor is somehow missing. The front bumper may be the culprit here...the lines look muddled and out of place on an otherwise well designed car. It neither has the elegance of an Aston nor the timelessness of the 911. Will take some getting used to..

re: Jaguar XE/ C-X16 concept. EDIT : Going to production as the F-TYPE

It looks really beautiful. I was most worried about the traditional oval sports grille (they are getting rid of it in future Jag sports cars) but definitely like the new one. It looks very close to production except for the door handles. Two things im not sure are the bright red interiors and the front air vents on the either side of the grille looks a bit messy. Its amazing to look at nonetheless, here are the highlights:
  • 3.0 supercharged V6 hybrid, 375 bhp, 332lb ft torque
  • 0-100 km/h in 4.4 secs, 80-120 in 2.1 secs, limited top speed 300 km/h
  • Option of 8 speed auto transmission or 6 speed manual
  • Hybrid system incorporates 95 bhp electric motor capable of 80 km/h
  • Interesting F1 tech incl. KERS & boost button for 10 sec max power
  • Predicted at 50k GBP, perhaps 70 odd lacs when it reaches India
  • Tata to follow up with Indian variant assembled in Pune, powered by Jaguars 271 bhp V6 diesel and priced at 35 lacs

Dear All, the owner of my organization is looking for a Jaguar E Type 2011. Is the E Type still manufactured (or discontinued) or is it succeeded by some other model?

For those who are replying to this post, please quote me as we are looking to import the car at the earliest. Thanks.

this was hard.
youre asking about the XK-E-type.
its a limited run, of 50 which ive read.
That figure kinda shows that buyers would be by invitation only.

If its the primary e that you seek, you could look at classifieds at pistonheads, or even ebay.

The XK-E-Type or the E-Type is the same car I believe. The E is sold in the UK and the XK E in the US.

Any classifieds or ebay would sell used ones right? We are looking for a brand new one.

Anyways, thanks for the info. Will look it up.
