Audi recently unveiled the A5 facelift and now it's time for the A4 to go under the knife.
Sporting heavy camouflage, the prototypes feature a new grille, modified bumpers and restyled lighting units. The overall styling tweaks are minor, but give the model a closer resemblance to the A5 and A6.
Engine options will likely carryover, but the 3.2-liter FSI will likely be replaced by the new supercharged 3.0-liter TFSI V6 with 272 PS (200 kW / 268 hp).

Dont we have the string of pearls in this one? To me that was the sexiest part of an A4 ! I will miss it I guess. Also whats the part on the top of the gril that comes below like a small nose?

The car in front is the estate version whereas the other car is a sedan. They were testing both.

No string of pearls but a cohesive line of LEDs. Will look as good or better be rest assured.

I am sure that I have seen this car on Mumbai roads last week but, the camouflaging is very very confusing for anyone to identify the car, unless it has stopped at a signal. The only way I guess we could identify is by looking at the steering badge.

Audi has officially unveiled the 2012 S4/A4/A4 Avant facelift.

Looking more aggressive, the Audi A4 adopts a new front fascia with a revised grille, restyled headlights and a modified hood. There's also a new diffuser, revised taillights and a dual exhaust system. For a sportier appearance, the S-line package has a reduced ride height and 18-inch alloy wheels (19-inchers are optional).
Inside, the cabin gains a new steering wheel, revised trim and additional chrome accents. Other changes include an updated infotainment system and buttons for the heated / cooled seats.
Under the hood, the Audi A4 has a variety of engines available. The 2.0 TDI has outputs of 136 PS (100 kW / 134 hp) and 163 PS (120 kW / 161 hp). Another four-cylinder diesel produces 120 PS (88 kW / 118 hp), 143 PS (105 kW / 141 hp) and 177 PS (130 kW / 174 hp). Last but not least, the 3.0 TDI develops 204 PS (150 kW / 201 hp) and 245 PS (180 kW / 241 hp).
On the petrol side, a new 1.8-liter TFSI produces 170 PS (125 kW / 168 hp) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. Other choices include a 1.8 TFSI with 120 PS (88 kW / 118 hp), a 2.0 TFSI with 211 PS (155 kW / 208 hp) and a 3.0 TFSI V6 with 272 PS (200 kW / 268 hp).
Notably, the Audi S4 has a supercharged 3.0-liter TFSI V6 with 333 PS (245 kW / 329 hp) and 440 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the S4 sedan to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.0 seconds, before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). In terms of efficiency, owners can expect to average 8.0 L/100 km (29.4 mpg US / 35.3 mpg UK).
On the handling front, the Audi A4 has a revised suspension and a new power steering system which "requires no energy for straight-ahead motion, thereby reducing fuel consumption by up to 0.3 L/100 km."
The 2012 Audi A4 will go on sale shortly and pricing has "changed only slightly."

And hope they stick to the 170bhp version since even the Passat has a 170bhp engine.

What a dampner, was quite looking forward to this one, but by the looks of it all they seemed to have done is come out with a honey i shrunk the A6 a bit edition. The charisma and character of the B8 A4 is lost. Can't see this one being a future classic. Also i think Audi has done us a great injustice by not bringing the S4 or the Quattro option on the TFSI in India, hope the new ones at least come with the same, would save face a bit.
