Stay Away From 2011-12 Manual Transmission Ford Mustang!!

Guy's do not buy 2011-2012 Manual geared Mustang's if you see them so cheap at the dealership or on popular websites. The car has so many issues in regards to transmission and clutch. You might even end up in accidents. So kindly refrain from buying it at any cost. You've been warned !!!!

Here is the link below. Most owners are waiting for more than year for a solution. Now how appalling is that ??

The 5.0 Mustang's are best bargains of the century but it's sad that Ford did the cost cutting in the most important aspect of a car, the transmission.

Latest update is that NHTSA has swung into action and are investigating the problem.

Me too mate, I was just about to put down my money on the 2011 Mustang GT manual and luckily I read about the Mustang transmission problem. What's funny is even Ford has not found a fix yet which is like almost 1 and half years now.

I was actually shocked and angry at Ford since my dreams of owning a Mustang finally came crashing down because of this. Anyways I'll wait for the 2014 model next which I hope would be better.

Shocking to know that Ford has been cutting corners in a bid to cut costs. And even more shocking to know that the service center does not accept that the fault is at the company's end. Well, I guess I'm lucky to be driving the 2012 model with an auto tranny.

Well how many miles have you done in your 2012 model ?. I've heard even Auto's have some problem although it's not as serious as the manuals. You would hear some tick tick noises from your engine. I advise you not to panic as long as you have no problem while driving it. Anyways just keep your fingers crossed.

Re: Stay Away From 2011-12 Manual Transmission Ford Mustang!!

Ford Mustang Owners File Lawsuit Over ‘Faulty’ Six-Speed Manual Transmissions. Now, it's headed to court.

Drivers of 2011-2020 Mustang and Mustang GT models have long made their problems with the Getrag MT82 gearbox known and now, they've taken legal action. In the lawsuit, plaintiffs claim the equipment to be failure-prone and blame Ford for not remedying the situation, despite knowing of the complaints for nearly a decade.

The Mustang's MT82 and MT82-D4 gearboxes are alleged to suffer inherent defects that lead to slipping, jerking, and clashing of gears.
