As a stand-alone car, it's just out-of-this-world! It really cannot get better looking than this! So aggressive and menacing! The pantomime-ness and that 'wow' factor seems to have been achieved. It's stunning!
But as a successor to the Lamborghini Murcielago, well, ummm, I don't think it can fill that space, personally. The Murcielago was and still is such an epic car. It's successor should be even more epic!
Long live the LP670-4 SV. It will not be dethroned by this. |
I doubt and I am afraid that this is what I am feeling inside. There's no denying that this new Lambo looks jaw-droopingly gorgeous.I would like to confess that I am in love with this car.Absolutely in love.Everything on this car is fantastic! From specs to the looks of this thing; it is going to be a cracker of a hyper-car.All I am waiting for now is to look after how this bull (mis-)behaves on road..
But,the Murcielago.Oh my god! That is my first love. The Aventador sure looks modern and rocket-y but lets be honest it is more German now or, more of Audi than Lamborghini. The Italian flair is lost, period! That is gone with the end of the epic Murcielago.Of course, the Aventador will make space in my bedroom wall but it would and can never replace the Murcielago which has been there for ages.It can share but cannot replace.True that you cannot forget your first love..Very true.stupid:

Yes. There should be one in Mumbai by May 2011 (if all goes well) |
Is this just a wild call or has somebody actually put the dough down?

The Lamborghini Aventador has also been sold out for its first model year. No word on production figures, but pricing starts at €255,000 ($379,700 / £201,900). Under the hood, the Murcielago replacement features a 6.5-liter V12 engine with 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque. Paired to a seven-speed transmission, the car sprints from 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).

the most important question to the lambo aventador
Do your doors open upwards ?
YES says the aventador.
And there is it ladies and gents.
The best super car as on today !!!!
cheers,
ac
@scorcher: I saw that video in the evening, and it made me miss the Murcie all the more. That howling V12 soundtrack isn't there, somehow.
As far as the engine remains a V12 it really doesn't matter how the stock car sounds. Just upgrade the exhaust :D
Maybe the sound is less due to stricter norms? I also think it was not revved hard enough.
The new Lambo has been very impressive and extremely desirable till the time i saw the video.
I really hope that the production models have more 'roar' than this one. Among the galaxy of astonishments and excitements that a super car can generate, sound ranks pretty high up. And in this video the Lambo disappoints.
I sincerely hope its a problem in recording, else the production version is significantly different.

It's a bunch of things that could be the reason. iPhone sound quality + cold start peaking at about 5k revs + possibility of the dual-mode exhaust on it's quieter setting. Let's be honest here - has any Lambo hypercar sounded sedate? ;)

That answers all the doubts ;)
You can see those are brand new cars which reportedly arrived at some dealer and is to be delivered to some long waiting bloke. I would be happy that they didn't revv it to the limit before delivery to the customer. I refuse to believe there could ever be a neutered Lamborghini.
If a 670 sounds like this, how can a 700 be less noisy? :D
