I remember that discussion but isn't age a factor ? Or are minors allowed ?

AFAIK minors are allowed with parental consent. The forms downloaded from the autocar website said that.

You can be under 18 and have an MAI licence, I am told. So you can race at SR, provided your parents consent.

I discussed this with Zavo from MAI, at the SR. I was told by him that

1) You do not need an RTO license to compete at the speedrun.
2) You need an MAI license to compete at the speedrun.
3) You do not need to be 18 to have an MAI license.

Point being that since the SR or such events are held on closed roads/circuits rather than on public roads you do not need a road license.

comments on my skoda by Mr. V-16

Dear friends,
The truth is out there in the form of supplementary regulations published in english by Autocar. Intelligent people should read them and maturely understand them. On a very basic note without getting into further more mature details, - would i open the front grill and side pods and DISPLAY MY BIG INTERCOOLER so openly if i was flouting the rules, also i would seriously question your technical ability and understanding in automobiles to tell the difference between a standard and bigger turbo ????
Wish you all the best Mr. V-16.

are you saying that a Bigger FMIC is allowed in street stock ???
on what basis ??
and what about cooling your intercooler on the track using that massive cylinder for a good 15 mins ????
is that also allowed in the regulations ?

Seriously guys, The last Speed run was also as bad as this one. And we did decide to do something the last time round also but as the excitment died down everything was forgotten and we were back to SQUARE 1 with the SCREWED UP RUN 08.

We seriously have to work on something. Like NEW EVENT ORGANISERS, NEW SPONSORS, RULES REGULATIONS ETC. Set a date(target) and work towards that.

FOR STARTERS. I ve got news that we could RENT OUT the JUHU FLYING CLUB RUNWAY for a couple of bucks(Lakhs) to hold an event like this.

Ive got a couple of friends in the club who we could speak to. Iam sure MAI could also help us with this. So lets get started.

Did go to the Juhu Flying club today with a friend this morning saw a couple of runway(s) and it seems it can really work out.

HELL WE CAN EVENT HAVE OUR OWN TRACK DAY THERE.

Can it handle the crowds? the number of cars? Parking? access? We could become a public menace to traffic in the area.

I'm not shooting the idea down, I'm just saying we have to think it through.

I just hope vijay mallya gets into this scene,he along with his co. can pull this type of event off,he can also get the Force india f1 car to demo down the track, amazing publicity too.
If i am not mistaken he is already at helm of affairs at MAI/FMSCI ?

It can handle crowds much much better that other places. Its got entry points, so people only with passes will be allowed to enter, no rowdy crowd, no showing off on your bikes, cars etc. Its safe basically. Only we need to try and put everything together.
