Just went to Dubai autodrome, awesome karting place. They got good karts and is well organised.They got two type of karts 13 bhp recreational Sodi Rx7 kart for all people. And 22 bhp fuel injected Sodi rx250, fastest recreational kart.

Rx7 will hit a max speed of 80 kmph on home straight. The rx250 will hit a max speed of 100kmph. Fast by recreational go kart standards but one need to set a lap time of 1:15 sec or better to drive the rx250.
I did qualify to drive the rx250, as my fastest time was 1:14. Its so humid and hot here in Dubai, I am sure one can set a better laptime during winter. Even the guy who set a lap time of 1:10 during january is only able to do 1:12 now.

Had a blast,I am waiting to do a session in rx250. Will update you guys once am done.

They also have a wonderful app, which keep track of your races. They also have rankings, weekly, monthly, 6 months and all time. Which I think is very good. I always wanted to know how good my driving really is, what better than comparing it with the regular professional karters. As it stands, I am 2 secs off the pace, which is quite large by racing standards.

To sum up, if you are in Dubai and a petrol head then don't miss the chance to experience some good
karting.
