re: 2nd-Gen Hyundai Creta @ Auto Expo 2020. Edit: Launched at 9.99 lakhs

So I went yesterday to checkout new Creta at nearby showroom in Pune. Had been waiting eagerly to see this as I am planning to buy a bs6 diesel auto and will be finalizing between Harrier, Setos & new Creta.

I really can't understand why people are criticizing so much on its looks. Yes looks are subjective but this one is definitely not worth all those harsh comments. Guys trust me this car looks much better in real

On display was SX turbo DCT model. Creta definitely looks taller and more macho than seltos and the interior quality, fit and finish also seems to be slightly better than seltos. I also felt that the back seat was more spacious and comfortable (Maybe due to those extra set of cushions on headrest & reclining seats with good under thigh support) This is just my opinion as I have driven seltos & also sat behind many times.

Now just waiting for the official price list. If they undercut Seltos they have a winner here.

Attaching few pics. Sorry there was a lot of rush so could hardly manage to take picture without people coming in between

I too feel the same. how would a truck driver be able to spot the flashing indicators of an oncoming creta and wants( waiting) to turn right. He's sitting so high up that he may only be partially seeing it or not even seeing it at all in flashing mode.

Just one of those oversights by an established manufacturer.Another such instance is Kia goofing up on providing back lit switch except for the driver window making the new owners to literally grope in the dark.Though people get used to it over time but a new driver would certainly struggle.I was one.

Oncoming traffic/people may not be able to notice it which is a problem.

Ditto with low-mounted taillights of new Creta. If a truck is tailgating very closely in a b-to-b crawl and if a Creta in front applies brake, the trucker may miss those low-down tail-lights.

Friends, don't panic. There won't be any oversights, atleast in the indicators and brake lights. Their functioning and performance (visibility to other road users) is very well defined in the regulations (AIS-008 & AIS-012) . And if any vehicle fails to meet any regulation, it doesn't get approval certificate and can't be sold.

Secondly, in India, we have learnt to drive on roads full with vehicles driving without working brake lights/ indicators, turning without indicating and many more silly stuff. So, new Creta surely won't be a challenge to other road users in India.

re: 2nd-Gen Hyundai Creta @ Auto Expo 2020. Edit: Launched at 9.99 lakhs

There have been mixed reactions about the looks and styling of the new Creta.Surely, it doesn't make you fall in love at first sight like Seltos does but it surely turns heads. As we see more and more of this car on the road, it would surely grow on us.

A case in point is the original Santro that had the tall boy design but disproportionate looks, a quirky design which India had not seen before. But it was one of the success stories of Hyundai India.Same held good for Wagon-R too which later became a big household name. Then the 2nd gen Honda City and Ritz, wasn't Ritz such an ugly looking car when it first burst onto the scene? It was a success too.The list goes on - Indica,Nissan Sunny, Duster, Dzire, Ignis.More we see, the more it grows on us.

It's a matter of time Creta makes its mark.My personal choice is Seltos, it's got a conventional look in many ways yet it's futuristic and sporty.

Excellent edit.

Converting that panel to body colour looks great actually and changes the overall perspective of the car. Liked it than having it in black irrespective of body colour.

Making it body colour or wrapping it black will be a popular MOD once customers start buying the Creta.

re: 2nd-Gen Hyundai Creta @ Auto Expo 2020. Edit: Launched at 9.99 lakhs

Recently saw the new Creta on the road, it was probably a demo car being driven to the Hyundai showroom which is close to my office. Whoever said that the car looks better in flesh than in pics, sorry, nothing could be further than the truth. The pics and videos show it to be a over-designed and weird car, and in the flesh it was no different. It also looks longer than the current Creta, and slightly disproportionate towards the rear overhang as a result.

This one looks even better.

As noted by others, the rear seems a bit bulbous (hence Hyundai using that silver panel to visually reduce it). IMHO The body colour one might accentuate the bulk.
But at the end, these are speculations till it is seen in person.

re: 2nd-Gen Hyundai Creta @ Auto Expo 2020. Edit: Launched at 9.99 lakhs

For me the most distinguishing factor between Seltos and Creta is the "Auto Hold" feature which comes with Electric Parking brake in top variants.

I drive an Automatic and let me tell you that it is a pain to hold onto that brake pedal in every traffic signal. With "Auto Hold" feature the car will do it for me.

With increasing bumper to bumper traffic driving, this is one feature which would really up the driving experience. Surprisingly this feature is not being discussed !

Now, that's how you add value. Hyundai
