BMW had revealed the updated 5 Series and 6 Series GT in May this year. Both models get cosmetic changes including new LED headlights, smoked LED tail lamps and redesigned twin-kidney grilles.

On the inside, both cars get the latest version of the iDrive 7 infotainment system featuring a 12.3-inch touchscreen head-unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as well as a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The report also states that BMW plans to launch the petrol version of the 2 Series Gran Coupe. At present, the car is only available with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 187 BHP and 400 Nm.

The headlights look strikingly similar to 2021 Octavia.

BMW is still able to produce classy designs, the new Mercedes-Benz designs have lost their elegance.

Any indication on launch date?

Current stocks of pre-LCI models are low at dealer end, with all of them expecting new stock by Feb & various publications state LCI launch in May 21.
As a prospective buyer, does this mean that a good time for a pre-LCI should be March-April when discounts would be at their peak?

I think launch is near, the discounts now are 10L on the 5er from Delhi dealers. I would suggest close it now. March discounts are only high when there are previous years production cars to liquidate.

Re: BMW 5 Series & 6 Series GT facelift launch in 2021

Hello. I am too in a position looking for a new ride. Coming from Passat, 5er and E looks like the proper upgrades.
I am getting 5er luxury line for 55 OTR And 530iM for 56 OTR meanwhile E220d is at 60 OTR (haven’t haggled much with negotiations though)
How do these values look and which one would be your pick?
I’v only only driven diesels (i20 Sports and Passat Highline TDI) and love the torquey rides but 530iM is enticing. FE on that will be abysmal (6-7?) and that is sad

Re: BMW 5 Series & 6 Series GT facelift launch in 2021

Was able to see the car in person on my dealership visit. Really liked the design, especially the front looked more appealing to me than the outgoing generation.

Eagerly waiting for the testdrive of this.

This is the phytonic blue as per the SA. it was dark so the color reproduction might not be too accurate.

Lovely colour but I don't understand why the 5,6,7 series even in their updates are retaining the old interior designs with an updated iDrive and instruments? Why no update to the new scheme seen in the 3 series, X5, X7, Z4? I really like the new scheme.

Re: BMW 5 Series & 6 Series GT facelift launch in 2021

I hope they bring the 6GT Nardo Grey colour equivalent to all BMW models. It goes very well with dark interiors and M Sport black exterior elements.

Does someone know if they will launch the BMW 540i guise in India? since they now have the engine assembled in India, why not use it across models?
