On road prices of Fiesta classic Diesel in Mangalore
LXI - 790000
CLXI - 843000
SXI - 1030000
Was there really a climbdown visavis the old fiesta? DZire and Manza seems safe atleast in Karnataka.
Wonder what will be the on road price of the new fiesta?
The SXI classic pricing hasnt been out on the dealer pricelist. Correct me if I am wrong.
^A dealer called me a couple of days back with the SXi pricing. There is very little difference between SXi new and SXi old pricing, assuming new SXi also has good amount of discounts going on.

So the tactics is to keep the price same as before and then give discounts ?? Would it not be better to cut down the prices to the same extent as the discounts are offered? Now this sounds weird to me because when you cut the prices, the car will look VFM than before. When you give discounts, thats a LOUD statement that this car is not selling !! :Frustrati
@Sid, I guess whatever price is mentioned in the previous post is taken from the Ford website.

Mostly, they are doing this due to following the logic that they may get higher margins this way. This is because the discounts will vary depending on the dealer & the haggling power of the customer. If the customer is the type who doesnt haggle at all or haggles less, the higher the margin for the dealer or the company.
But it is debatable as to what will be more benefecial as if they lower the prices, they may sell more cars & earn as much or more than the practice of keeping the price same & giving discounts as they may sell fewer cars this way.

Now since S model is discontinued, can SXi suspension be tuned liked S model at the Ford service centre ? Other things like 15" tyres, spoiler, sports pedals etc can be easily added..... |
Buy SXI, visit RRR or Pete's :) They will do a better job than your service center guys.

10.3Lac for the TDCi??? :Frustrati The SX4 is the better buy then!
Its all because of the road tax in Karnataka. The SX4 diesel (ZDi) is costlier IIRC.
But I also feel SXi is priced too high as the new Fiesta is now launched and to get buyers for the Fiesta Classic the price should be lowered further. They might find a few buyers in people like me, who prefer the looks and ergonomics of the classic.

This info is from Cavery Ford, Mangalore. I called them up to find the prices. Did not ask them anything else after hearing the prices! :Shockked:

I feel they might revise the prices once the NFS price is announced. Otherwise there should be an overlap between the current Fiesta and NFS which will create some confusion !

Then i wonder what was the purpose behind the press meet that was organised for launching the Fiesta Classic?! :uncontrol
Ford is trying to do a Hyundai India. The Accent was not stopped while launching Verna. Ford wants to sell existing Fiesta along the NFS. The difference here is that they haven't changed the name Fiesta unlike Hyundai which named next generation Accent globally but rebadged it as Verna in South Asian countries

Ford has already done it. With the IKON and Fiesta.
The IKON is Ford Fiesta MK4 IIRC.
just saw in an AD today that the fuel effeciency given by Autocar for the CLASSIC is 30KMPL!! does that not make it a fantastic vehicle :)
