Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

What could be a fair price for Seltos HTX IVT in Gurgaon? The manufacturing year is 2020 and the car has run for roughly 16000kms.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Weird, but may be true! Post the XUV700’s price announcement, I get a feeling that portals like cars24, spinny have all reduced their forecasts on the C suv segment. I have a 2018 Creta 1.6 SX diesel and I was just casually checking potential resale value before the XUV700 launch and it was showing around 12.5 lakhs on an average. Now, just 3 weeks later, post the XUV700 launch this forecast is now showing less than 10.5L! I’m not absolutely sure if this is due to the XUV700 launch, but with the prices of the new XUV700 extremely competitive, I get a feeling that the inflated prices of most used cars are bound to drop a bit, especially the hot selling ones like the Creta, 1st Gen XUV500 etc.

True agree with you words completely. Below is my experience.

There was a quote of 11L for 2018 Duster 110 ps RxZ with 28k on odo. It's from owner who is selling for an upgrade. Reason doesn't seems valid as owners parking lot has no space for upgrade.

I saw few insulation tapes wrapped around wire casings in engine bay - seems to me rat has played around. Owner claims to have sprayed engine protector coat - engine bay had glossy or greasy look and wasn't dry like my Ritz VDi.

From OrganeBookValue portal I see Duster 2018 110 ps RxZ market value is 8L to 8.5L based on how good it's maintained. But owner seems to be very confident with 11L as other players offering same or similar quote.

Term depreciation has become joke not only in Bengaluru but all over with these players inflating prices by 1.5 to 2L.

What should I pay for a used Ford Endeavour 3.2 Titanium AT 4X4 2018 model, KA12 registration run about 22 K? Tried to check the price of the car in 2018 but couldn't find it. IIRC it was around 38 L OTR

To get a fairly decent approximation of the ex showroom price, you can use the Depreciation calculator by the Government present here

Towards the bottom after you get the depreciated value, you will see a table of how they calculate depreciation- using that you will get the ex showroom price. Based on that you should be able to reach the approximate on road price that time by adding taxes/ insurance etc.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

I want to sell my Ford Ecosport Titanium Plus Automatic (6 Speed Torque Convertor) , 2020 Model.
It has Sunroof, Cruise Control, Paddle Shifters but misses out on the Sync 3 system and TPMS.

I am located in Assam but with the right price and buyer, I am open to selling it to anyone, anywhere in India, albeit will need help from the buyer as well for Document related work.

I have infact posted its ad in our Team-bhp classifieds, Facebook as well as in OLX. But so far, no luck, very few enquiries, and mostly Low-ballers, I missed out on a amazing deal from a buyer from Bangalore because of the ownership transferring issues and transportation of the car.

I have priced it at 9.5 lakhs. Is it good enough? I am clueless.

I need to sell it ASAP, cause I have plans for investments on Home construction as well as a new car.

Just curious, why are you selling a fine car like Ecosport so soon! You will face quite a high depreciated value anywhere between 30-40% of the OTR cost you purchased it at, considering it's a petrol AT car.

Multiple reasons for this. I now have other investments planned so need to get rid of the car loan of the Ecosport.
I am not being able to use the car as I originally intended, so its just in the Garage most of the weekdays.
And in case I plan a long drive on weekends in the future, I would consider a Diesel AT in the future, not cause of the fuel prices but the better tank range of a diesel.

Or for a strict weekend fun car, I would love to get a lifestyle car, personally I like the Thar, also the Jimny.

My daily commuter car is a Celerio AMT, not considering any replacement for my commuter car yet.

Another amusing situation is that, my parents loved the Ecosport on the short weekend rides on the newly built highways (A year ago) as it was a substantial upgrade from the Celerio. But once they rode on a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and also the newly made Highway has turned bad in less than a year, now they rate the Ertiga ride better than the Ecosport.

Anyways, When I planned the loan for the Ecosport, I did considered a 30-35% depreciation factor, even if I get the price now with 30-35% depreciation, I would be fine, but it has been really tough to get a buyer in my state.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Noob here looking for a fun to drive car.

I was looking for a pre-worshipped 1.6 s-cross and found one recently. I'm yet to get the service history but looking at the car I didn't get the feeling that this is the car I need to get. Don't get me wrong, I like the 1.6's punch and drivability. It's this specific car's condition that makes me hesitate.
It doesn't seem to be well maintained. A LOT of Broken interiors (Automatic climate control knob, vents, seat belt mechanism. It looks completely beaten even though the odo is south of 50k kms.

But still I'm convincing myself to get this 1.6 as it's hard to come by one on sale.

I have driven my friends S-cross 1.3 extensively but haven't got a chance to try a 1.6. I have a few questions regarding 1.6.
- Noticed the engine NVH is considerably high. The clutch vibration is easily noticeable while in first 3 gears. Would fixing this mean replacing the part of clutch assembly. (Noob alert!)
- The gear slotting in the 2 gear is a bit hard. Is this ok?
- Is it possible to get this car thoroughly checked by ASS. Is there a way to do this (Or a reliable third party)? I don't have trusted mechanics who knows this particular engine well.
- I've read about the suspension test done by ASSs. Is this doable (and reliable) from ASS?
- Does the steering feel different - a bit on softer side in the 1.6 compared to 1.3.
- I saw a list of chassis numbers for which steering is to be replaced as goodwill. Is this doable after 4-5 years of purchase.
- Is the asking price of 8 lakhs too high for 1.6 alpha that is 4+ years old, 50k kms in odo, with no current insurance, battery at end of life?

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

I am thinking of picking up a Jan 2016 manufactured Linea T Jet Emotion variant.

Run around 35k, with service history. Looks in good shape physically. Will 4.15 lakhs be a fair price (in Delhi)?

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Looking for a used BMW X1 or Audi Q3 not more than 3-4 years old and running less than 30K kms. What should be a reasonable budget for the same?

Also, me being new to used cars, where should I start looking for?
I am based out of Hyderabad.

Sounds to be in the right ballpark area. A fellow bhpian sold his 2015/16 T-Jet earlier this year at around 34k kms on the odometer for about ~4.6L IIRC in Bangalore.

Looks like a fair price by Bangalore standards. In New Delhi, I believe the 2nd hand vehicle costs are lower. Please take note to find a good competent FNG who can maintain your vehicle for the next 5 years. As of today, parts are available at 99rpm and I have not seen any issue with the part sourcing.

I bought my 2011 Linea Tjet in 2018. Three years with the car, it still does not fail to bring a smile whenever I hit the highway. All the best in your car hunt

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

What can be the fair price for a 2016 Octavia 2.0 TDI AT Style Plus in Mumbai? Online sites indicate an on-road price of 28L without discounts. Total Mileage reported: 68K KMs. The car is yet to be evaluated but from the photo looks of it, the exterior is well kept.

Actual inspection is pending. Let us assume it will need Tyre change (approx. 40K expense) and Battery replacement (4-6K I believe from outside.).
