I think that's a good deal. Congrats. Enjoy your ride.

While searching for your car, if you have come across a similar or slightly less attractive deal, please let me know, a friend want to buy one like this. His preference - Santro / Wagon-R or any other small car.

I bought a 1999 April Carb ZEN LX for 1.2lakh. FOund that all 4 tyres as bald as my grandpa's pate and had them replaced at a cost of 9000 (Bridgestone 145/70/R13). PLus the regular maintenance on takin the car was another 8000/- . The car had 72K on the Odo. The problem is that I am the third owner. The second owner, who bought it from DElhi told me that it had 52 K on the Odo in 2005 and he has driven it the rest 19 K in 4 1/2 years. Now it has scratches on all four doors and front bumper due to reversing the car inside my house and bumping against pillars and taking my car inside the house up a steep slope and testing the front gate integrity ! I think the paint job will be 10 K. After 6 months, after building up my driving skills, I want to sell the car. FE now is 14KMPL, no AC (may be due to low driving skill).

What price the car will go for now?

IMO the price of a lancer(2000 model) it will be around 1.4-1.55L max considering the fact which you have told regarding the car.

IMO the car will fetch around 60-70K max and if you are lucky then another 5-10K extra.

That's a good offer too. Just 2700 kms ?Is it from a dealer or seller ?

My friend is a bit reluctant to buy feminine car like spark/estilo. But please PM me the contact details, we will see the car and then decide if it is such a sweet deal as it appears, he might buy it.

even if it had run less than that it would have costed around 1.9-2L. Since spark doesn't enjoy the resale value like Maruti IMO

Baleno 2006 - price?

I had to sell my beloved SX4 2 months back to my friend, because of some urgent requirement of money. Now looking for another car. Seen a Baleno in Maruti True Value - 2006 model, 30K on odo, single owner, silky silver. Asking price is 3L with 1 year warranty and 3 free services. Is it a good deal? Driving is on highway only. I expect 15KMPL on highway. Any comment?

I recently checked the True Value attached to MSM for a Baleno as a friend was interested in one. It was not available at that time but I learned they cost between 2.50 - 3.00 lacs, and are generally sold out very very quickly.

usually the higher end cars have more depreciation...also consider that there are almost 3 models that have changed for the City.
I think its a matter of patience..those who value a good car, usually end up almost when you have decided to sell it off to the next avail buyer

1.5 Exi is not a problem to source from most parts of the country. And they are aplenty everywhere. My office parking has 2 ok-ish used OHC with original wheel caps even. The problem is the - 'Vtec' factor.

A very badly maintained Vtec was on sale for 5.5 L.
Year 2003. 60 K kms (I am guessing not genuine.)
But the bloke knew the demand for it. I know
he would have come down a good INR 75K, but
a penny more of bargaining, he would have asked
me to take a hike.

So in some models the variant is also a big factor.

On top of that the 2005 models were low on power than the earlier city. Also they were almost considered a downgrade from the outgoing city. Not to mention many people hated its looks. All this adds to relatively lesser resale for this variant of the Honda City. However it would still fetch slightly better price than the same age cars by competition.

Thank you. I will treat the 30k as my tuition fee for car learning!

PM Proxima for price-check on Chennai Balenos. Is this an LXi or Vxi ? 16kmpl is what I get on highways in normal driving (without any speed/rpm restrictions).

It's LXi.

BTW, what about the spare parts cost, SupremeBaleno? How much the front bumper will cost?
