A quick check on Carwale tells me, a brand new is available @ 4.91 OTR, why do you want to be a 2nd owner for a few pennies and lose out on the re-sale at a later point in time.
Knock off more on the listed price so that you may recover the loss on being a second owner on this car.

That's a lot. Alto doesn't command premium in used car market, unlike swift or dzire. You should knock off atleast 20% as 1st year depreciation.

Thanks guys. I had checked with dealership by phone prior posting and was quoted 5.11OTR. post your reply depreciation looks just10% and hence giving it a pass.

Anytime, the knocked down price was ~ 17%, but still, 4.25 for a Alto, not worth it buddy.
If Automatic is not a must -
I shall go a step further and suggest a Grand i10, Era, for you, it retails a shade more than the price that you are looking at, after taking into consideration that there are ~ 80K discounts that have been running on it, if you can live without a few luxuries (PW etc) that the Vxi would offer.
Grand i10 is a way way more accomplished product, if you get good discounts, checkout the Magna as well.
Go for it, if you shall retain it for a longer term and a new car is a new car.

For entry level AMT automatic hatches like Alto, Nano etc, is car outside warranty any cause of concern? I am looking at low mileage cars only and hence guessing that it should be fine.

I am looking at a 2010 SX4 ZXI with around 65000 km on the ODO. I know the owner very well hence know that the car has been cared after, serviced and driven well for all these years.
There has not been any discussion about price yet, since the seller is a very good friend of mine. What would be a fair price for the car, somewhere in the middle of what a dealer would buy the car for and what he would sell it for...?

Average the two.
Add or remove some amount based on the condition of tyres, battery etc.
