You are a lawyer, so I will take your word for it.

Maybe qaqa can get it confirmed from the VW dealer who has sold the warranty for the vehicle.

It does not make any difference to me as the extended warranty covers my car as I am the 1st owner. Though I will try to get it in writing from the my SA about the warranty.

So if extended warranty is a major decision factor, you won't be able to claim extended warranty coverage.
Is this applicable only for VW cars or a general rule followed by all manufacturers. I am eyeing a Linea TJet with extended warranty till 2018.

You don't have to take my word for it only because of my profession. We are known to twist things to aid an argument in our favor. Anyways- this is the transfer certificate with all vw warranties, this should clear all doubts that anyone may have.

Like I said, warranty is for the car and not the owner- both are independent of each other.

Cheers

Thanks a ton for the details, Rohan!

This should clear all the doubts. I am not sure why the VW SA gave misleading information. I will also check the Warranty Certificate that I have received. It should have all the conditions laid out clearly. I did not receive an extended warranty booklet though. It is just a single paper with warranty details.

What would be the right price for 2015 Tjet Emotion which has covered 18k kms. There are no mods done on the car.
A new one is available at ~10.75.

So, I went to check this Dec 2013 mfg Jetta Highline DSG 13k kms on odometer. The car is in very good shape apart from a couple of scratches here and there. I gave my offer of 12.75L to start the bargain but he is adamant on 16L. I told him good luck with that and left.
His argument was if you are buying a new one today it will cost you 25L or more. I said IF it was a new car but yours is almost 2.5 year old so you cant compare with new price. He paid some 22.5 odd Lakhs when he bought it.

2009 Swift DZire (the prev version)
73k run
Battery 4 yrs
Tyres need replacement
GB fine
A little roughness somewhere. Suspensions will likely need work after 8-10k kms.
Single owner
Bangalore regd

How much can I expect for this ?

Ford Endeavor AT 2010 with 60k. Delhi registered. He's asking for 9L, considering ford doesn't have a good resale. I'm not convinced it's a good deal. What do you think ?

18700 Kms in 9 months seems slightly high. price seems like a decent deal. please check for signs of abuse before you start using it regularly.

This car with the jelly bean shape is acheiving collectible status slowly. I would wait for a buyer who is ready to shell out 3.50-4.00 lakhs atleast. This car has no comparision. Sadly Maruti Suzuki discontinued this model in favur of Zen Estilo which was a flop IMO.

This is around 6 years old. Original on road price may be around 22-23 lakhs. Since it is an AT, pay an authorised service centre to run the basic diagnostics for the transmission and other key parts of the vehicle. I think if the quality of the car and service history is good you can try bargaining for around 8L. With the new endeavour around the resale value for this old version has come down significantly IMO.

1 year old cars typically go for 20-30% discount to the price of the car (paid by the owner) depending on various factors like Kms on the odometer, Service / Accident history. I would pay 8.00-8.25 lakhs. Hope this helps.
