Guys, i'm a buyer and need your opinion to quote for

2009 Hyundai i10 1.2 Sportz, 38,000 KMS
AC needs repair
All 4 tyres were changed recently.
No idea about insurance.

Buyer is quoting 2.1L as the final price.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

Hello Car Gurus / Experts,

I am on the lookout for a second-hand sedan car with a budget of 3-4 lakhs. This car will be used primarily for highway drives and weekends mostly with family. Reliability is a priority for me, hence the Japanese cars.

Cars shortlisted -

1. ANHC - My first choice but good finds are 5 lakhs and above - beyond my budget.
2. SX4 - I have seen plenty of SX4's but haven't liked a single one until now.

However this morning I did see a used Corolla 1.8E and the car seemed to be in good condition.

About the car-

Model - Corolla 1.8E (Not sure if its H2 or H5 though. Appreciate if someone could help point out the difference)
Year - 2005
Odo - 75000 Kms
Interrior - Leather seats (Seemed original)
Eletronically foldable OVRM's
Tyres - Goodyears, look a little old. May have another 5K life remaining.
Alloy wheels (including the spare and looked the std ones).
Insurance - Valid till Feb'15 (comprehensive).
Asking Price - 3 Lacs

A few scratches and one noticeable dent on the side of the car, but the owner is willing to do it up with the insurance.
This car was company owned and has been transferred to this individual's name. Car has been serviced at Toyota service center with all service records available and serviced regularly as well. I hoped to see some rusted bits here and there, but to my utter surprise, nothing! The insides of the doors (where scuff plates are attached) were clean, and even the paint is not scratched.
However, what remains to be checked is the engine and mechanicals. I will be taking a mechanic tomorrow morning to confirm this.

But I need your expert advice and suggestions.

1. Is it worth going in for such an old car?
2. Is this a good price to pay?
3. Anything in particular I need to check for the older Corolla's?

Regards,
Wins.

Mtorque check the insurance before going ahead. Are you the second owner? AC what's the estimate? 2.1 L is good if the vehicle is good from outside and inside. Check for accident history.

Guys, Im trying to sell my 2005 Honda City ZX VTEC (On CNG) done around 70k KM registered in Delhi. The car has quite a few scratches on the outside but is good from inside. The tires might need a change in the next 10k KM. How much should i expect?

How much can I expect for a well maintained 2011 Mahindra Scorpio SLE? 59k in Odo but with 60k service done. Insurance available till March 2015. Under extended warranty ie till Mar 2015. I have seen that Carwale quoting 8.5L for similar Scorpio and I can see ads with people quoting around 8.5L +/- in various places. I know these are just quoted prices and actual price would be different. But I would like to know, in reality how much can I expect? Location is Bangalore.

Model: Tata safari Storme EX

Odo reading : 25000
Insurance: free for three years (A TATA offer)
Warranty: 3+1 extended
extra: Reverse parking cam & alloys. (installed from ASS while getting the car)

Please help in ascertaining the fair price of this vehicle.
Last week a dealer I know picked up a 9 month old maroon storme VX Noida registered 12 k kms on the odo scratch less car for 8 lakhs and sold it for 10.25 based. On this the ideal price for you to buy this in today's scenario would be anywhere between 8-9 wherever you can close it at.

Cheers

One of my colleague's friend is moving to the U.S. He wants to sell his VW Vento Highline (Diesel).
Model: 2012
Kms Run: 12000
Price quoted: 6.5Lkhs.

Is this the ideal price? It cost him 9.5 on road.

Close it for 6L. I presume he would be happy with immediate sale plus friend buying so no worry of transfer of ownership which is assured. 6.25L would also be a good price, or if the car is in very good shape, it has done less mileage, its your call.

I think 2 lacs is a fair price for a nine year old car.

I am looking for a used diesel car for my father. Currently, there is a black swift vdi 2010 model with 45000 kms on the ODO. Seller is a used car dealer.
The condition looks fine, no obvious rattles. Tyres look good for another 10000-15000 km.
What should be the appropriate price or the car?
Dealer is quoting 4.75 lakhs which is a bit high in my opinion.

So much confusion about valuation. I guess the owner will also get a bit jittery if he reads this thread
Any update on this deal ?

Oh my gosh Such poor resale price for storme VX. Is there anything seriously wrong with vehicle or it is due to TATA brand name?

Dude that's how the market is in Delhi tata commands lesser resale as compared to mahindra also this is nothing the same guy picked up a BMW 320 d 2012 august done 16 k kms for 13 lakhs today I practically sit with them almost daily for a couple of hours as I have rented out space to them you will be amazed at some deals that come there way. I was just as amazed initially like you are but I got used to it now.

Don't pay a penny over 9 for your deal.
