Year of purchase: Nov 2009
KMs run till date : 37000 kms only
Condition of the car : Claims to be 'Excellent'
Expected price: 4.3L
Can you gurus please advise if it makes sense to go for this car considering the current petrol prices. I intend to use it in weekends but still might increase my usage gradually. |
On the face of it the price seems fine. But here are things that you should consider:-
- Insurance - If it's about to expire, bring down the price
-Tyres - @ 37000 kms the tyres will be near the end of its lifecycle. Bring down the price if so.
- Condition - My experience tells me that in this world there are 2 types of "EXCELLENT"
Excellent for the dealer cause he has made a "Super Profit" out of you!!:Frustrati
Excellent for you cause you got a good car at a great price.:Cheering:
Make sure it's the latter!!!!
Buddy whatever you do, before you pay, make sure you get it checked.
Usage -
I believe that if anyone uses a car for more that 800-900 kms/ month, it's better to get a diesel car. You decide if you are gonna use that much.
Happy hunting
Hope this helps

Hello Mahesh,
Just 10,000 kms in 5 yrs!!!:Shockked: That's less than 175 kms/ month.Has it even completed it's 3rd free service!!
Before coming to the price part, lets discuss the technical part.
I presume that the car was driven on a regular basis. Because a car that's been stationary for a long time will have it's share of problems. If the car was stationary for a long time then you might have to -
- Change the tyres, cause the rubber compound might have gone hard.
- Change all fluids like engine oil, gear oil, brake oil.
- Change the suspension bushes.
As far as price is concerned, a fair price could be around 2.5-3L. Although I could be way off my mark!
Hope this helps,
Varun
A small update, the car is actually a 2006 model and has clocked 28k. The owner was ignorant as he is so not a car guy.
I had a look at the car, it is flawless without even a scratch. The tyres need to be replaced.
Varun,
The car is used regularly for about 50kms a week, purely city driving. It is an Lxi, with power windows.
The car looks in top notch condition to me, though am concerned with the fuel economy of ~10kmpl(again the owner could be wrong)
But still i feel it is a car worth buying. 2lakhs is a good price right?

4.3 is bit on the higher side.My friend bought 2006 1.4 base version for 2.20.My guess is that you might find 1.6Sxi for less than 2.5L.

Please keep in mind this car is a Nov 2009 model, and ~2.5L would be unrealistic and way too low to even start. I would say anything around 4-4.25 is acceptable for an "S" is good condition. If it's the Aquarius Blue, then it's a bonus :D
All the best.

Confirm if its actually 10K,and irrespective of the Odo,it should be priced around 1.75L,not a penny more than that.

I definitely agree that price is good for 1.6S because even finding one is hard.My estimation was for 2006 1.6Sxi. I usually look only at the condition of the car and ODO reading rather than year of manufacture.I recently bought 2004 optra with 20K on the ODO and car is in such a good condition that people find it hard to believe that it is almost 9 year old car!

I have no idea about mumbai fiesta used car prices. Here in Bangalore the car prices (used or new ) are highest.
for 2009 fiesta petrol can be bought for 3.8 to less than 4 lakhs- maybe less if you have good bargaining skills. According to the dealers, 1.6 variants(including s) is even cheaper in the used car market because of low FE and resulting low demand.
Considering that the mumbai used car prices are lower compared to bangalore, 4.3 lakhs is just way too much for fiesta with 1.6, no matter how less used it is (and 37000 is not very low usage).
Most 1.6s owners quote high rates because the car is not very common in used car market. Fiesta is no doubt a good car, but it's prices are very low in used car market. So, proceed with caution.
Hi,
I am thinking of either selling my Alto CNG or transporting it to Bangalore and use it there. What can I expect to get if I sell it in Delhi?
Model - Alto LXi CNG
Colour : White
Year of purchase: June 2011
KMs run till date : 36000 kms
Condition of the car : 'Good'. No accidents. Few dents.
Expected price: (?)

It's better to sell in Delhi since bangalore has no cng stations and road tax upon transfer is high.

Hi Mahesh,
Two things here - The car is 6 years old now, and the tyres need replacement.
Also, check the condition of the battery in the car.
Esteem is pretty frugal with about 12kmpl inside the city possible with a light foot.
I personally will not pay for more than 1.8L for a phased out petrol car.
I'm planning to sell my Bangalore registered Swift Zxi Sept 2005 (Garnet Orange), 102000 in odo. Well maintained.
1. All four typres BS Potenza GIII (completed 40k km :) )
2. Running on mobil 1 synthetic for the last 60k kms.
3. Majore tune up done less than an year.
Front struts, strut mounts, rear shocks, Brake Pads, brake discs, wheel bearings all changed less than an year.
4. Fitted with K&N free flow filter non customized (OEM fit).
5. Decent ICE from blaupunkt with 6 speakers.
6. Chinese bixenon HIDs installed with projectors.
What would be an ideal price to start off.

Ah !! I totally forgot about the insurance bit, the tyres also look to be at their end of life. Let me talk to the seller and thank you for the pointers. The car is being sold by the individual directly and no dealer.

Agree with 'Jayded's point. Since it's a 'S' and 2009 model the pricing will be quite high than the other variant.

Totally agree with you mxx. Most of them are bit over priced due to the rarity of the car.
A question to everybody, does it make sense in getting a CNG kit installed for this one and make it a daily workhorse ? :D
