Although I have a few models in consideration, these are not very popular models and hence very difficult to get an idea of the approximate resale price.
Please give an idea of how much 2010 models of the below mentioned would be worth in the used car market (assume good condition with 40-50,000 kms on clock)
1. Fiesta 1.6S
2. Linea t-Jet
3. polo 1.6
Linea T-Jet should be a perfect fit for your requirements, its easily the best driver's car in the ~10 Lakh range.

For the models you mentioned above, 2010 models with 40-50K on the ODO both the Fiesta & Linea T-Jet should be no more than 3.75-4.5 Lakhs depending upon the state of registration, service history & condition of the vehicle per se.
The Polo 1.6 IMO, even though not as much a car as the Linea T-Jet should still demand a price which would be a notch higher than the T-Jet say something between 4.25-5 Lakhs again varying by the factors i mentioned above.

Do let us know which vehicle you zero in on. Hope what i wrote helps you out a bit !! Good luck

Can you share more details like which month of 2006? how many kms done? And, assuming you bought it new the price when you bought it?

If possible a picture would be great. Interested to know the resale value of cars in this segment over a 5-7 year period

Thanks

Hi Friends,

My friend wanted to sell his 2012 model [March] XUV 500 W8 version [Front wheel drive - grey colour]. The odo reading is 17000 Kms. What is the fair price for this vehicle? The vehicle is in pristine condition and is Bangalore registered.

Thanks,
Prakash.

17K kms in 8 months is a fairly extensive usage. Expect a price minus 15%-20% of OTR price.

Am looking at a few Volvo S60s , put on sale...Since these are not volume machines it is very difficult to arrive at the right price..For eg came across a 6 month old white S60 D5 summum, where the dealer quotes a ludicrous 35 Lacs to some earlier posts of CARWALE for 22 lacs for 14 month old S60

If any of you have witnessed/heard recent transaction prices of used Volvo s60 D5 ( Diesel) pl share.

Today my search for a used car for almost more than a month ended as I finalized on a November 2011 i10 Sportz although I have not completed the transaction with him yet as it is scheduled for tomorrow morning due to the loan closure formality which needs to be completed. Ok here is the deal:
Make&model: Hyundai i10 MT 1.2 Kappa Sportz
Manufacturing Year: 09/2011
Insurance paid upto NOV2013
ODO reading:12000km
Single Owner, grey color
Price: 3.40L
Car has a couple of dents and the front bumper paint has peeled due to a rub against an object. Is this a good price?

Hello,

Rs. 3.4 lacs is a good price for September 2011 i10 Kappa Sportz with 12000 on ODO.

Do not worry about minor dents & scratches, as they are very normal & can be removed / repainted anytime.

You are lucky to get a good used car within a month. Wish you all the very best for your new Car & hope to read a initial ownership review from you soon.

Thanks,

Hello kmadhok,

Car: Vento HL AT - Max 6.6-6.75L including registration.

Car: Honda City V AT - Quoted price way over the top. Again max
6.6-6.75L including registration.

Car: Skoda Octavia Rider AT 1.9 TDi - Avoid. Skoda did not sell many AT Octavia's in the first place. Spares might pose a problem. Also Skoda's A.S.S remains a gamble.

Alternative - Hyundai Verna AT CRDi [1st Gen]. You can get 2010 models @ around 6.75-7L. Easier to maintain since it's a Hyundai. And you get the economy of a diesel.
My preference in the order:-
1. Honda City
2. Hyundai Verna
3. VW Vento
4. Skoda Octavia

Hope this helps,
Varun

This is an extremely good price by Chennai standards. I have been seeing 2010 cars go at similar prices. Hence please do a thorough check of the car before going ahead.

Yes so finally went along with the owner and cleared the loan closure formalities and paid the balance cash to him. While we were busy with the formalities he received a couple of calls for the car! Never knew there is demand for i10's even today inspite of it being a petrol! The left front side passenger door dent needs to be removed and painted. The rear bumper has developed small crack and the boot too has a dent on it. Will claim insurance and this should make the car looking clean. Total paid was 3.40L and the ODO reading shows 12600kms which I feel the car was used well over the last one year! Will soon post pictures once the car is back after painting.

Do check what's underneath that crack in the bumper.
And yeah, seems like a good deal.
Happy drives!

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

In the used car market after 3 years. For a friend this time though. Budget is ~5 lac. Wants a diesel. Preferably sedan. Checked out Mahindra First Choice in Vellore.

1. 2008 Fiesta - Run 94k, single owner. Quote - 4.8 lac
2. 2009 Logan - Run 80k+, single owner. Quote - 4.9 lac
3. 2009 Punto - Run 76k, single owner. Quote - 4.2 lac

We're not very interested in the Logan.
What should be fair prices for the other 2?

And interestingly, they are not offering the 'company warranty' on any car it seems. Smells fishy??
