The rear view of Brio is not at all attractive. Looks more like a chocolate lump is melting down. The front looks good, though.

re: Honda Brio - Small car for India - unveiled!*UPDATE* SCOOP Pics Pg.23

Autocar in their June 2011 Issue has driven the Honda Brio. Waiting for the issue to come. Pricing will be a key factor. But the weakest link in Honda is the lack of Diesel Engine. Rest of the Competition is already offering Diesel. It will be interesting to see how Honda puts the models in line >Brio>Jazz>City>Civic in pricing,

Any changes to the looks (read rear end) or is it going to be the same?

More then just the looks of the rear, I understand that there is no hatch door and it is just a extended glass which opens to access a tiny luggage space. Honda never tries to tailor the cars for Indian conditions/requirements but this is something they need to fix, if they want to compete against i10 or Wagnor. Of course it is a different story if they are after 1000 units/month kind of target.

Not having a rear hatch is a recipe for disaster but I do not think Honda will launch it as it is. Although it is an excellent reason to attach a boot and sell it as a sedan, increased pricing = Better margins.

We Indians love our sedans, will lap up an autorickshaw at a premium if it came with a boot, Bajaj RE D'zire anyone?!!

I see an advantage here! Insurance companies give 100% reimbursement for glass components, but lesser percentage for metal parts, Maybe some Honda guy thought on these lines?

Honda Brio launch is scheduled for June end. My ANHC rep informed me today that invites would be sent by 15th June.

Thats cool ! But seeing Honda's latest gimmicks, I for one have lost interest in their launches. Will there be a change this time around or are they going to play the same "brand" image on pricing ?? Lets see what happens!

That is not true. The second image in Sid's post clearly shows the hatch opening.

Some screen grabs of interior from the Honda Thai Website. Not sure if this is already shared.
Looks very well packaged.

If you notice the image closely, it is just a glass mounted on a metal frame, with some darkening at the bottom to make it less transparent so that the luggage is not visible.

Windshields are covered 100%. I know cos I had the rear one replaced when a BMTC bus rear-ended me at a signal (Red). At the time the car was 9 years old, and was still covered at 100% (only charge was labour).

The boot-space looks deep (though might be parallax influenced), but the angle of the rear seats will ruin the packaging. That is one steeply reclined rear seat!

Just noticed the separately mounted power window switches (a la Fiat Palio), and the really stubby rear arm-rests. Don't the rear seats split/fold?

Why is the front seat head rest reminding me of a peeled banana? And the interiors look very good in my view, just that the music system looks like an after-market unit rather than an integrated one. Everything else on the inside is pretty good for me
