My car was delivered on July 30 in Pune and Pune RTO delivered my RC around Oct 15. The average delay is <3 months is what I was told beforehand, it took roughly the same time.

In case you are worried, you could visit the RTO once (or engage a friendly RTO broker). Some things never change, despite the promises for digitization.

I suggest you visit the RTO and check it yourself. Our systems don't work all that seamless.
