Yup. If its handling matches at least 90% to that of Linea's, then this is my new car!
Man, this would be a quite a long month!

Honda should be least bothered, as they never given a damn when it comes to listening to the market.
SX4 don't need to worry much. If you see, Maruti has there own fan following. With diesel mill they will keep making good numbers for next few years may be. Its already started waiting periods of 2-3 month for diesel. People trust Maruti & wants good, affordable & reliable service and that's why they go to Maruti. Yes, Linea will suffer big way. Real competition will happen in Vento, RBi & New Fiesta.

Lets see who wins the race. We can see the real picture in next 6 months time for sure

The powertrains and the variations offered look wonderful. So they look like they want to be at the forefront with diesel power.

Fat chance of that happening.

it revealed one thing that the steering wheel hasn’t changed much from the previous Verna. It is light for the city use however it feels a bit lifeless when the speeds are up or you want to change lanes urgently. That is to be expected from this electronic power steering unit. The handling as also the ride aspects can very much said to be similar to the older unit if not worse.

It will definitely be Hyundai. Service network, A.S.S, Looks, Power, Petrol/Diesel, AT, 6 gears, space.... "I want it all".
Fiesta petrol should outsell either Vento and Hyundai. IMO
I see Vento taking a hit. Both petrol and diesel. Do we expect discounts?

@pamishra- Very nice work indeed. The car seems to be a winner. The the let down is same as the older version, Handling.

The above mentioned link mentions that the new verna does not have steering mounted audio controls, Is that true?

Because i read that the new verna does have them.

OK..so the fist of the "desi" reviews (cars driven in Indian soil) is on. Nice looking car...it should be an optimized no nonsense all rounder. And the car also has a reverse camera...WOW!

Are they offering AT on 1.4 diesel, too? Or only on 1.6 diesel?

This was my expression when I read that review. Let’s see how Hyundai price it as pricing is very important if Hyundai wants this car to set sales chart on fire. There would be good competition among Verna, Vento, Fiesta, SX4, Linea (Diesels).

Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

Verna - Handling is almost the same
Fiesta - Interior space almost the same
Does it mean that Vento will be the all rounder in diesel and City in petrol?
Is it so difficult to give a well rounded, sales leading cars in this segment? Manufacturers should also be thankful to Honda for not giving diesel and its profit inducing prices (until now)

Mighty impressed with Hyundai for benchmarking interiors. This car seems like a brilliant package that the only thing going wrong for it is the Verna badge, which has never found a large fan following. It deserves a new title.

Only other disappointment is the slush box, why only 4 speed, Hyundai! The Vento has 6!

Nonetheless, the city and vento better watch out.

Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

Wish the segment had a car with City like design, space & engine, Verna RB like interiors and Vento like build. It would be a kill. But off these it seems Verna might emerge as the all round champion considering the overall package. Waiting for a detailed TD report and a TD car at the friendly neighborhood dealer to have a first hand experience.

Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

I am really excited and awaiting this launch. I want to buy the 1.6 CRDI. All my cars since 2003 have been Hyundai CRDI's (2003-2009 Accent CRDI, 2009 till date i20 CRDI) and have had an excellent experience so far. I expect this car to be better will all new features. I only hope that the suspension is not as stiff as the i20 and the road clearance is good.

Cheers
