Not included the AT option in top end maybe to avoid price conflict. 7-11 lakh price bracket is what I am looking at. Obviously, its not the final trim plan but something ..like a guess.
Got it SID bhai. So Hyundai is ready for the war.
Hyundai v/s FIAT v/s Maruti v/s Honda
Verna (RB) v/s Linea v/s SX4 v/s ANHC

If Hyundai will price better then following models will be sell like hot cake.
[*]1.6 petrol manual/ AT, base
[*]1.6 diesel manual/ AT, base (this will be a great VFM if price better.)

Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

Well April 2nd is not that far, I'm not sure if they will launch it before 2nd April or 15th for that matter. But I'm sure they will launch it before the fiesta, for people who are interested in buying a car in this segment I would recommend to wait until the fiesta launch and then compare all of them. Get all possible reviews (Sid's forte) and get the best one. I think I will wait for another 6 months to get one of these as Nissan Sunny will also be launched by then. I know its a lower segment car, but again its Nissan. They just might give something which has good VFM.

Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

I was in Chennai last weekend and saw 'masked' new vernas cruising near hyundai's plant. Even though they were covered by a black cloth, the front looked very similar to the current model and the rear was quite different with a rear quarter glass. If the new fiesta is more expensive than the current one, then the new verna if priced at 8-9 lakhs OTR diesel can do well. But Im not sure I would ever buy one.

The service guy told me both 1.4 and 1.6 petrol and diesel M/T and A/T options. I didn't ask further details as I have to rush to office.

Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

There are numerous articles on the web revealing one particular fact that Hyundai Solaris(in Russia, Verna in India) is an excellent car and has been the best seller in last two months there, outstripping VW Polo Sedan if not obliterated.
Following is one article depicting the same:
Hyundai Solaris takes of an in the lead position in Russia | AVTO
In very less time it has become very popular car in sub-compact sedan segment in Russia, so why cannot it happen here in India, it sure will happen.
What I can see in last couple of months is Honda City being itched by VW Vento very badly. What I can foresee, Honda City getting exposed to fierce heat produced by 'ANHV', upcoming new Ford Fiesta and melting away.
Friends, please share your thoughts.

Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

I m guessing the launch will take place between March 29 and April 2. The world cup final is on April 2nd. And semi finals are on 29 and 30 March. They might launch just before the world cup finals.

New Thinking, New Possibilities !! since they are the official sponsors of ICC World Cup

not sure which one it's in AD. did;t paid that much attention but from sideways it looked more like new verna to me. let me search for that AD on you tube . Basically it;s a 4+ minute video. The ad 's are cut from that video only .

Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

AutoCar review.

Quote:
it a good long-distance cruiser, however strong crosswinds can unsettle the car. Its true test though will be on Indian roads though. The steering is quite light but still had pretty good feel around the centre position but it doesn’t weight up consistently and at times feels disconnected from the road like many EPS units. However, that won’t bother typical owners who will be looking for an effortless steering and light controls for an easy commute.
The words in bold indicate that the new Verna is powerful but not a handler just like the current Verna.

Good bye Verna RB for me.
