Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

I am in awe of the fact at how Hyundai are constantly innovating. They never seem to get complacent and lose focus in this market. AWESOME

I am sure we all here and people at Hyundai know that this is the perfect time for the launch. Think about it - there are so many of us who have booked a Vento and are endlessly waiting. If launched at a similar price, Hyundai have a value proposition in place. Whether or not Hyundai manage to convert these customers is a thing we will need to wait and watch.

The 1.6 U2 Diesel looks promising and I too reckon this will outsell its Petrol siblings. Question remains - How good of a handler is the new Verna?

Can't hardly wait. Bring it on Hyundai!!

Thought of sharing this only pic with you all.

I think it matches this shot. So could be a mid level model.

No more Qs please.

Don't like the i20-like front grill, though the rest of the car including the rear-end looks like an expensive sedan! If they launch this in the price range of Vento, with all goodies in top end version such as ACC, leather upholstery and a good engine, then it will be a worth competitor to Honda City.

Sid... Same question. Is it a picture from the Hyundai's plant in Sriperambadur? How do you get hold of such pictures?

I cannot answer about how do I get hold of these pics, as for the first Q, the sender claimed as affirmative from Chennai factory. I haven't seen the inside of the Hyundai plant, so mee too cannot comment. But lucky for those who have seen the car in flesh, even on camo, not such luck for me though.

You can understand that its my patience thats tested day after day and every day I hope that when the car will be launched..it sure gonna be a cracker. Its just Feb 10, and like its about 30-40 more days left. Heck, time has never moved so slowly. So near, yet so far. Even I donno why I am getting more excited to see this car and the new Ford than to check out the new Maybach on 12th night. Rivalry Masala from South never became more delicious. Perhaps remember the Ikon vs accent war in the 1999? Its time for fiesta vs verna war after 12 good years. Perfect makings of an amazing cricket match post world cup cricket match finale.
Cant wait to see which gathers more TRPs. Koreans or Americans?

Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

I visited the Hyundai dealer today to get my Verna serviced and got talking to their area manager.

He confirmed the new Verna, Avante (formerly Elantra) and i10 diesel coming between April and July 2011 followed by the Santro diesel too later this year.

No plans of the i45, though the i30 is under review.

He gave me this information since the workshop service and sales staff is getting ready to be called for training on the new cars.

I really hope that the manager hasn't gone bonkers on saying about cars like santro diesel and i10 diesel.
Verna, Santa fe CKD, i45 and 800 cc car will precede the avante.

Apologies if this has been already posted, but this is the launch video of almost the same design that we're expecting back in India. The car looks smashing Hot!

Thanks for the pics, parm. Looks good even on the base spec. Were those 15" wheels with covers? That audio HU looks uncanningly similar to the one offered in the santro GLS.

The L shapped fog lamps are the first time I am seeing. and they look stunning.
Wonder what other shapes we would be seeing the fog lamps in future.

I presume these pics are from Korea. The car appears to be a low-mid variant - it doesn't have ACC and has a very simple music system.

The top end versions of Accent actually offer a touch screen system. See the attached picture:

In the pics below, we see engine start/stop button as well. I hope we get that in the indian version as well.
