Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

I have been waiting for a new sedan for the last one year. Most weekends in Nov & Dec were spent in TD of various cars. Resisted year end offers on OPTRA, Verna transform & Linea.
As this is a completely new car, IMO, the car is worth the wait!

Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

@ sidindica - I have a strong gut feeling that this car will come with both 1.4 and 1.6 U2 CRDi engine options. The power output though could change from what we have in international markets. Am just praying that both are getting launched along with the 1.4 & 1.6 Gamma petrol engines.

@ breezydrive - Pls dont buy a mid-size sedan now. Wait for the new Verna and new Fiesta. Both of them seem to be a cracker of a new model.

@ MAS - You are right. The more I see the pictures, the more I am liking it too.

Any idea about the Petrol Engines on offer? hope they offer better engines than what was offered in current verna. Nothing to speak about except for being very quiet. They need a better engine (GDI) if they have to take on City and Vento.
Hope they also offer the Hatch version.

Good news for me....esp a high end model with all bells and Whistles from Hyundai. Verna is known for his rocket engine & if they could pack all those safety features at reasonable prices, that's one option for me

Looking at the reviews of Vento plus that stunning red color, I fell for it. But the delivery woes has pushed me to look for other alternatives.

Going by Hyundai's recent strategy of loading all their models to the gills (i20 & i10 F/L), we can safely assume that the new Verna will set benchmarks for features offered in the premium midsize segment.
Tentative launch dates are fine. But I hope the waiting periods will not be like Vento.

Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

I have seen the camouflaged being tested in Tambaram-Sriperumbudur route tonight at 9PM, the driver had stopped for a tea and I could see that this car has black and beige interiors and same scheme door pads.

Also it was enveloped by i20 CRDi Asta model at the front and at the back.

Sid,

Can you also check if there is a spec with Auto Parallel Parking Assist? Was a mouth watering feature for sure.

YouTube - 2011 Hyundai Elantra ( Avante ) Auto Parallel Parking Assist.
I guess they will not give this since its expensive. But frankly if we get all these, driving is going to be boring ! Whats left there for the driver to explore?! I seriously hope they make it a proper driving machine with the right handling and ride quality combo in the new version. Reading i20 reviews I am not too positive on this.

The dash looks uber sexy !

That dash is the elantra dash, not the verna dash and no, no park assist will be offered.

Verna RB will come first.
And this is the interior and exterior of how the car will look like.
Pics from solaris club of Russia, where this same car is sold as solaris.

Re: 2011 Hyundai Verna (RB) Edit: Now spotted testing in India

Whoa! Looking at the real pictures is making me fall in love with this car. So, what is the future of the Accent or Verna?

Will the Accent be killed or the prices lowered even further?
Will the Verna now be sold at Accent Prices?
Will the RB sell at Honda City + entry level D Segement prices?

What about the Avente/Elantra then?

Anyone, please assist?
