I am still deciding and taking test drives have a budget of 9-14Lac "The 14Lac mark is a bit of a stretch i'll have to take out a loan of 6Lac which otherwise would be 2Lac" and the finalists are:

1. Linea Emotion Pk
2. Cruze LT
3. Laura 2.0 Ambiente "Not totally sure of Skoda because of Team-BHP and the negative points its getting but Laura is a good car overall very balanced"

Having sold my WagonR for a Fiesta 1.6 recently, my next car would either be a Reva or a Nano. Traffic in B'lore is getting worse by the day; travel time, even for a short trip for groceries is in hours today and parking spaces have all vanished. So a small car to weave through traffic and the best drivers car for those long trips is what I have in mind.

A Baker's Chocolate colored Ritz Vxi.

Was a very difficult decision - with a plethora of model choices, colors and umpteen number of trims, it was finally down to the mid range petrol engine versions of Ritz, Polo and Figo. Polo lost out of because of wait period, a noisy engine and an stingy equipment list - 1.6 was too expensive. Figo was in the race till the last minute, but went out of the list due to the mediocre performing and not so fuel efficient 1.2 engine. The only car that suits my budget (5L), yet gives a great driving experience, refinement, fuel efficiency and of course great after sales service was the Ritz!

No doubt for me... It is MAHINDRA BOLERO!

okay dont give me that look It is purely an emotional choice. But yes Bolero is not your everyday cup of coffee. It is big, not-so-refined, noisy, just 60+ bhp and does not sling like a rocket, and it does not appeal much to girls.

Purely Utilitarian, with some creature comforts. That's what I need next.

Re: Your Next Car?

T-Jet or a City for me.

City for it's all round reliable nature, though it's not a real driver's car. But then I mostly drive within the city.

T-Jet for the turbo petrol. Never had the experience of a turbo petrol, and would really like to know what is the ride and handling difference between City and T-Jet. Experts say it's huge!

But I like the looks of City better than Linea, and would be turned off by a not so good HU in Linea.

Anyway, I have been making these plans for the past couple of years now; haven't really managed the finances well enough to go for it. Hopefully in the next 6-8 months!

Re: Your Next Car?

If I go with my mind, it will be the Honda Jazz.

However, I am hell bent on getting a diesel, even though it doesn't make sense for my CURRENT situation. I have more or less decided on the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire ZDi, but may consider the Ford Figo TDCI Titanium or the Toyota Etios GD SP if Maruti prices it really high.

I would really like the Skoda Rapid Ambition (diesel), but can't justify it right now.

I guess the only reason I can use to justify a diesel is to have the flexibility for going on frequent road trips or to be able to choose a place of work which has a longer commute by car.

Re: Your Next Car?

Punto Evo T-Jet or Punto Evo 1.6 MJD (if FIAT dare to bring those). Else no plan till 2014.

Cheers!

Are u sure Linea 2012 series features Tjet? I dont see it mentioned even in the Fiat India website. IMO its been discontinued due to lack of sales.

My next car would be an AT hopefully...if I have to settle for a manual it has to be Linea 2012 MJD Emotion or XUV500 W8 4X2 if they start selling it in Hyderabad...

Re: Your Next Car?

I'm stuck on the Punto Diesel!

There's a very high chance that even if the GOI imposes new car tax on Diesel cars, I'd still go in for a Diesel. Although my present car is a petroleum product(!!), I'm sold on the torque delivery on the D's.

Hopefully, the Punto Diesel and/or FIAL would be around by then.
