New Indica Vista Drivetech 4

Don't know any other thread exists for this.

Tata Motors has launched an all-new Indica Vista range, the Indica Vista Drivetech4. The BS-4 compliant Indica Vista Drivetech4 has a specially designed Eurotech gearbox mated to the Quadrajet diesel and Safire petrol engines.

The new gearbox ensures higher torque at low RPMs with minimal vibration and precise gear shifting. Exhaust gas recirculation has been implemented for lower emissions. The same technology is also being offered on BS-3 engines.

Other new features in the car include a 4-spoke tilt-adjustable steering wheel and height-adjustable driver’s seat. The rear seats flip and fold in a 60:40 fashion. The car has a fully integrated 2-DIN stereo system with Blue 5 and USB port to enhance entertainment and communication convenience. Dual airbags (driver and passenger) and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) adds to the safety of the occupants.

The Indica Vista Drivetech4 series has been competitively priced, starting respectively from Rs.3.57 lakhs for the Safire petrol range and from Rs. 4.4 lakhs for the Quadrajet diesel range (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Anything new in drivetech4 vista externally?

"The new gearbox ensures higher torque at low RPMs" - the spec still says the old torque figures - 190@1750 rpm for QJD. So what has changed?

Is this mere marketing hogwash being dished out when they made earlier vista bs4-compliant?

Generally these figures are from Engine. Here they do not consider Transmission loss. I am not sure but I think Transmission loss is between 10 to 15% from engine to Road.

With drivetech4 TATA must have reduced some transmission loss.
