Most expensive car purchase by Ambani

Armored vehicles seems to be a rising trend among wealthy. Mukesh Ambani has taken the lead by purchasing a customized BMW 760Li High Security, directly through BMW Germany. Car is reportedly completely bulletproof. In other words, current generation of our PM's official car.

Quote:
The car is a shade of moonstone metallic colour and, according to sources present during the registration process, the front panel and seat headrests had been embossed with Mr Ambani’s wife Neeta’s name.
According to various news articles, car cost (after including all customs duty) is about 8.5 crores (i.e. approx 300% of actual value), not sure if their are added duties for armoured vehicles.

Obviously, this does not include registration/RTO costs. It has been reported that car was registered to Reliance Industries on May 7 at Tardeo RTO. Registration costs being 20% of vehicle's effective price, one-time tax of 1.68 crores was shelled out to RTO itself.

So, effectively, 8.5 + 1.7 = 10.2 crores!!

Ok..now the insurance costs? This obviously beats Aventador Roadster's ballpark of ~7.5 crores.

Re: Cars Indian CEOs drive

^ I believe he should have waited for this;

^ the S Guard (S600) launched in India today @ 8.9 crores.

This armored S would have been a much better choice.

Also do note that this 7er what Mr Ambani purchased would be obsolete very soon, the G11 (new 7) is on its way

Wish Mr Ambani would have consulted us for this car advice
