.. There is also a reinforced impact bar in the front of the car in the american version...

Now, does that mean that we wont be getting the reinforced impact bar upfront.?

We are getting an impact bar in the front but the american version has an extra heavy duty impact bar in the front.

Guys, anybody has any idea about the price (or when will it be revealed)? and when the car bookings and delivery will start.

^^
didnt someone mention that it is treading on honda city territory?
to the effect of a mid version ANHC being same (price) as top spec NFF.

If this is true for the Diesel variants, then we're going to be pleasantly shocked! Fiesta would surely be a winner at this price point :thumbs up

^^
The price, ie VFM, has always been the USP of the fiesta, aint it?
"most fun, this side of the sun!"

But, i am sure the diesel will still command a premium.

Diesel has to command a premium for sure, but I mean, the diesel variant should not exceed ANHC pricing spec for spec to be called value for money, under-cutting the Vento by a decent, sizable margin would be perfect.

Finally what is the launch date? Has there been any confirmations from Ford ?
(Did I miss anything in the previous posts?)

Not yet atleast, my guess is that they would like to have a look at the Verna pricing and decide accordingly the variants.

I wonder if it might make sense to relaunch the 1.4 Duratec at least as a base variant since it qualifies for lesser RTO charges , I guess.

That I guess is already a part of Fiesta Classic. Why then Ford would add to the new Fiesta line-up. In case of the new Verna it makes sense, as the old Verna wont exist.

On the other hand, I would like the 1.6L, 90 PS diesel for the base versions and a VGT fitted version of the same 1.6L diesel mill producing around 120 PS for the top end versions ;) maybe with the face lifted Fiesta at least. I know its miles away from reality, but just hope Ford provide a powerful Diesel to enjoy the entertaining handling 'economically'.

Mustang had mentioned sometime back that pricing and all had been decided quite sometime back and the launch of the Verna will not alter it.

Mustang, sorry if I'm too pushy, but, why would US want an extra heavy duty impact bars upfront?. Shouldn't it be the opposite, as in India we have lot of stray dogs running here and there?

Maybe it has to deal with huge trucks and SUVs over there as opposed to Nanos, Altos and Indicas over here :D

On a serious note, I think Mustang.101 has already told that the U.S. norms require it. This requirement also made altered bumpers a necessity and also increased the weight of the car by 100 pounds (45 kgs). Maybe, the thread's boss- Mustang.101 would be able to clarify more easily and directly :)

Does US norms require a ultra reinforced dog-bar, or just a dog-bar. :p

Actually, Aravind, India too gets the dog-bar, but then, seriously, does US have some norms over its stiffness?. If not why couldn't it be standard.

I for one, has gained a lot from the dog-bar in my car. I'm all for it.
