Hi Hiren,

Nice pics. Was there any info on the price or engine spec for the etios?

Also do you have interior pics for the new launches? Prius etc.

I so wanted to attend this but had to travel.

Did you ask anyone whether there are any plans to recall cars in India?

Camry Hybrid looks stunning, what about the Etios? What are the specs?

Want to ask you guys. You think Hybrids have a future in India?

I have my doubts. Let me know. Its a honest question.!

Thrice the price!!
Renuka Kirpalani said Prius would cost close to 30L. That's about two times thrice (I mean, six times)!!

Etios sedan will be 1.5L Petrol only and price will be around 8 to 9lacs according to the sales person.

Prius is already launched, the price on road is around 35Lacs according to the sales person(I was surprised and confirmed him twice)

IMO hybrids are not for India provided our Government will change the import regulations for Hybrids.

Camery Hybrid looks very Civic-y. Atleast the front portion of the vehicle hints something about someone looking at the Civic grill while drawing the design.

Prius is not here for volume sales. The other day there was a article in Ahmedbad mirror mostly and the toyota dealer confirmed having 5 confirm bookings for the Prius. Which i dont think is bad for initial order.

IMHO, and most petrolheads too. Prius is a hyped car made popular by Hollywood pseudo Green People.

Clarkson and hammod have proved, that if you do Floor the prius it uses more fuel than a Supercharged Beemer.

Plus manufacturing, Prius and later disposing it will harm the environment much greatly than any other car.

35 lacs for Prius? Those willing to spend so much must truly love the environment. Word of advice: GREENPEACE > its cheaper

I also happened to visit the show. Etios hatchback looks very good in flash. With prominent waistline it really looks aggresive. For me what spoils the party is the front grill. It looks very smily and gives the car "Made for Elders" look.

I really dont like the idea of showing off the car which is to be launched almost a year after. Though the car is in concept stage, exterior looks production ready. This will take away novelty factor when the car is eventually launched a year down the line.

its indeed 35 lacs, my bad.

but point remains the same. Its ridiculously higher, for an ugly car.

some magazine did pitted against nano. and they really appreciated it. What an A** lickers, that they are, they want to promote toyota just coz they allowed their hands on a new vehicle.

If you want to save environment and save fuel, you are better off with any euro IV diesel that is being sold here.
