I think they will go back to VM units now that the link with Mercedes is no more.

The 3.0 is a V6 Mercedes Deisel engine. Now that Fiat owns Chrysler/Jeep, I doubt Merc will let them continue using that engine and even if Merc is okay, I doubt Fiat will want to pay royalties for the Merc Engine. Not sure what is the largest Multijet there is available from fiat. But if they don't have one big enough for the Jeep, they will probably go back to VM Moturi as Mpower mentioned.

If they are coming the CBU route they will probably start with the Liberty in the 30lakh range like Landrover did with the Free Lander.

2) If not CKD, they are going to lose on value and this car will lose due to brand. Anything above Rs 20-25 lakh and this car will not succeed. They have to first build the brand.
Going up against Audi and BMW and Mercedes-Benz is not going to bring in success. Even mighty Toyota is finding the going tough in the above Rs. 20 lakh SUV segment.

3) Reliability must be equal to Japs along with A. S & S.

Sid, that image says All New 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This is 2009 and this 2011 vehicle is already out with so much detail? When it should actually be prowling the deserted roads with a lot of camouflage? Or am I missing something here?

Great news, it would be a nice change after seeing japanese SUVs on indian roads all these years. And Jeeps are great for offroading too.

Yes,its already out.It was launched at this year's New York Auto Show.
