I hope this thread doesn't turn out to be a "piss the hell" thread like one under Baleno LXi Vs Petra thread... folks are just waiting to load their guns against each other.

Based on the votes, does not seem to be a neck neck competition like the other thread. Palio emerging as a clear winner in this case. By the way, is it a apple to apple comparison

Just random thought! How many of the folks, who voted for Palio 1.6, would actually go and buy it, if they have a to buy a premium hatch?

1.6 GTX is one serious hatch !! no compromise in terms of power thats what i like ..
as for FE figures i am sure i can manage 9 kmpl and i'd be happy with that ...i
iam a huge GTX fan ..i'd choose a GTX over the OHC even the v-tec ...
its just that i have a fetish for 100 horses in hatch

as a palio user, add 1 more vote to the palio bandwagon - it is the palio 1.6 gtx for me too. it's also 1 of my all time favourites. for the first few days after the swift was launched, i thought that the palio would look dated, but now, i already feel that, except for the back side, the swift looks kinda odd - of course looks are personal.

and why not compare it to the swift and the getz? isn't the pricing the same , now that the 1.2 has gotten cheaper?

1 wonders though, how all these votes don't get converted to sales! maybe the guys with the passion for cars get overruled by the guys with the money to buy them...viz their dads hehehe

I am not voting in this poll until I know for sure that GTX has been relaunched and they are not referring to Adventure Sport as Palio 1.6 Sport.

Without a Fiat Web site, it is almost impossible to make out the truth unless a recent buyer of this car comes forward. Until then it is all rumours and heresay.

Even as an overall car,
the Palio 1.2, 1.6, 1.9D is superior to their respective competition.

I think Swift is more comfy as i dont like he spacing between the pedals in Palio..
Better quality : In what terms?? Engine of Swift is not bad and interiors are of much superior quality in swift..
Handling: With the stock Palio tyres i dont think handling is great as everyone will not change the tyres immd..
Safer: Swift is equally safe i think..

Firstly,
Palio is cheaper,
Secondly,
the swift which i saw seemed as though it came factory fitted with a height adjustable front passenger armrest which squeaked when you would move your hand.
Something that has just developed in the Palio after 3+ years and the Palio's still wasn't as bad.
Secondly,
the Swift had a lot of UNEVEN panel gaps in the body.
So the quality isn't up there with the best.
Also the Palio is more practical and has more storage space.
Also the Palio with 175/65/R14 tyres has better handling then the Swift VXi with which it is equally priced.
And the Palio also comes with a dead pedal which is quite usefull and it feels a whole lot bigger in the back in comparision to the Swift.
And yes,
if hunting for another car in the same segment we would def. go for a Palio D (what will we do with 2 1.6s?) or a Petra D/1.6 (in comparision to Indigo and esteem D).
