I doubt Toyota will like to launch Picnic here. After having Innova and then bring Picnic does not make much sense.

It will be better to have Estima or Previa as for the replacement of Innova.

IMHO launching picnic does not seems like a upward shift.
And I do not think Toyota can have both Picnic and Innova co-exist in the Indian market.

Although seeing those pics in tapes, hiding logos etc., I am curious what is the strategy of Toyota.

These are the same points going in my mind also.

that front styling looks similar to prev. generation corolla. Bring it on Toyota. the big question comes to my mind is where will this be priced? betwen Fortu and Innova? or what?

A minor correction, Verso is based on corolla and smaller. This is "avensis verso".

Great scoop! This vehicle, eventhough resembles innova in some parts, has some hatch-like treatments and looks somewhat low slung.

true, but with features like that it would be in the fortuner's price range - I doubt many would choose this over the fortuner.

I hope toyota bring the yaris for around 5L - that would be a success.

AT + some goodies shouldn't increase the price by more than 1.5L. Currently Innova V is 14L on road in Bangalore and Fortuner is 22L. If this comes at 15 - 16, all those who buy Innova for a family (as opposed to taxi owners) would be interested in this.

Nice pics!

A quick question though - with the driver/passengers being away, no one guarding the vehicle, it seems you had the luxury of time to click these pics. Did it not strike you to peel off the tapes at the rear and read the name?

That is the previous gen Verso, based on the older Corolla. Why not launch the present Verso ( The New 2009 Toyota Verso Photos | VersoImage Gallery | Toyota UK ) based on the latest Corolla platform that's being assembled in India already.
Anyway I don't think there is a market for a 15 lac bloated hatchback that seats 5.

That's the most plausible guess so far!
And yeah, its the last gen Avensis Verso.Hence its looking a bit dated.

Awesome scoop. Hope they bring it to India. The Xylo numbers might be worrying Toyota. Hope they price it in line with the Xylo which is most unlikely.

Are you saying that based on pics or after looking at specifications of the car?

It is indeed a good scope. But, my gut feeling is that Toyota will not get this model in parallel to Innova. I doubt innova would be replaced soon as it is sold in very good numbers.
