The car is looking excellent and its features list will put the heat on Toyota and Honda. The interiors looks very nice and the screen is exciting. The only question that arises is reliability and after sales support. Also hope that they price it nice!

Don't you mean 5 speed, even the Brochure/training manual says so.

typo, 5 F speeds + 1 R :D.

A little OT: Today spotted 2 U-VA's in convoy but with no disguises near ITPL, Whitefield Bangalore. Both the cars were in White (pearl type). It had diesel clatter.

Just wondering if they are having the multijet tested on the UVA now?

GM is in with plans of launching Diesel powered MINI/BEAT/SPARK (Whatever they call it) late next year. Since, they have awesome diesels anyway so I won't be surprised if they bring in U-VA and AVEO in diesel versions alongwith small car.

Front-Grill fever..

The looks are with a good blend - Aggressive from the front & delicate beauty from sides

any idea what could be the price?

I have been seeing a White Cruze near JVLR daily. Seems like some GM personnel stays there.

Colours:

Light gold
altantis blue (pictured before)
olympic white
misty lake
carbon flash black
velvet red

So any bets on what would be the sales order settled at post Cruz and spate of other recent Launches.

My take on numbers: (Highest numbers first) 11-25L seadans.
Altis
Cruz + Optra
Laura + Octavia
Civic
Superb
Accord
Jetta
Passat
Teana
Camry
Sonata Embera X'form

I bet Americans (GM + Ford) are going to be a dominant force. Both have ambitious long term plans for India and both of them are executing major plans (including that of small car) better than their Japanese (Toyota, Honda and Nissan) and European counterparts (VW).

So what will Indians(Tata,M&M) are going to do, sit and watch what they are going to do.I think they should act before these people decide what to do which will save the indian players.

I used to drive around a Pontiac G6 which is roughly a car similar to this one. I hope the Cruze has similar handling prowess as the G6

Just got a call from my friend (The showroom owner) he told me the car is here in his godown but he won't be able to gimme a test drive.
Am going to see the car first thing tomorrow morning.
He asked me specifically to come alone.
Hopefully will be able grab a few pix.
Cheers!!!

Going by the fact that GM has been in the Indian Market for more than a decade, its performance has been anything but dominating. Of course there is no denying that the Cruze is a promising product, but so was the Optra when it was launched 6 years ago. Nor has it tasted any real success with the likes of Aveo, UVA, Forrester, Magnum etc..etc...
In fact all their models lag towards the bottom half of their respective segments.
