Kerala gets its first Audi showroom.

On the same day as Maruti launches the Ritz, Kerala gets its first Audi showroom. The showroom named 'Audi Kochi' is from the group Patel Cars and is situated by the NH47 near Maradu. The inaugural function took place an hour ago and I was there.

The showroom Audi says is unique. They like to call it the 'Terminal showroom' which is unique in its architecture and styling. This one in Kochi is the fifth in the world after Tokyo, Geneva, Sydney and Munich. It has a special porous material lining the outside, and a lot of glass which is the part of new Audi Corporate look. I didnt get the whole idea so I think they made it to look like...well an 'Airport Terminal'. The unit comprises of a 9000 square feet area that has a display of eight Audi cars. Along with the showroom is a 6000 sq.feet space dedicated for workshop and service.

The showroom also has a beautiful lounge and a small official merchandise section retailing scale models, t-shirts, caps etc.

Due to the press conference held inside, there wasn't space for eight cars. There was the usual set of A4, A8, TT and Q7. Of course, the new Q5 wasn't there, because it hasn't been officially launched. The facelifted A6 wasn't there either, because they said there was a truck strike which delayed the shipment.

But there was this.

Auto Village Maradu

Awesome dude. Nice Looking showroom. The Marudu region can be called a Auto Village now, because of the number of showrooms there; pretty much everything (from Maruti, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, TATA-FIAT, Honda,Toyota, GM, Mercedes,Mahindra,Audi, VW, BMW) . Porsche is also planning to get in that list.

Audi is finally getting it's act together on marketing 101 = Presence. Importantly, their showrooms seem to have much more flash than its other German competitors. Even the one in Mumbai (at worli) is an eye-catching showroom; you simply can't miss it.

Vivek. The interiors also look very bland and boring. At least they could have made it more sporty and with a dual tone color combo like in the lambo etc.

Both are from the same parent. And has such distinguished brands like SEAT, Bently, Bugatti and of course, Skoda as siblings.

Wow! That's one deadly showroom. It's got that typical German architecture.

If you notice till 140 the difference is 20 kmph & from 140 its 30 kmph between all major marking.

If you are asking why then probably they were not able to fit the top speed with 20 kmph difference & below 140, 30 would have been a bit high.

Thats ofcourse my guess

Patel Cars eh?

Same people as Peninsular Honda. Not exactly confidence inspiring, that. But should be better than your average Skoda dealer.

Look carefully there are 2 markings between the 140-170-200 for 150/160 and 180-190 may be wanted to make something different from the regular ones.

i guessed this too
