Nope, he still gets about 11 or so. Apologies for the late reply but had to confirm it with him.

The drive that he undertakes is from Malleshwaram to Airport road and back. Full of traffic, and signal lights. The car is about a year or so old, but he maintains it like a baby!

My vote is for the baleno too. I personally prefer it to the Fiat.

Plz also let's include the NHC even though it's a 1.5.

Wondering if most votes are based on performance of the car or the VFM or both!

My Baleno is 1600 kms old...my mileage is 11, 11, 12, till the first service and 11 last time...but I have not gone out on highways and also have a rather heavy foot....so guess it will be 12 if I drive with a light foot...

That means you have not seen a banged GTX.
I saw one 4/5 weeks before in Chennai in an accident.
I saw it happening actually.
An LMV and GTX.
GTX was smashed up in the front and the driver was badly injured.

I owned GTX initially and a 1.2 ELX also. The theory that heavier built cars are more safe is simply balloney.
I sometime wonder how many people have really driven GTX, apart from people who own them

GTX has a great engine. Poor driver comforts and uncomfortable low speed riding comfort. The fewer times i really read a good report was one in the long term reports of AutoCar magazine.

When the toss up between Fusion+ and GTX came and after test driving Fusion, I gave no second thoughts about Buying the Fusion.

I simplt wanted a better GTX:

in short a better all round good hatch/car..
This is not to say lightly about GTX

I can understand your frustration..feeling that FIAT is gonna shut down shop in India, you sold of your Palio & got a Fusion..but..it didnt happen..

I personally know so many guys who did that & sold off Palio for a throw away price & now repenting..

I do not think Fiat is going to shut down.
I sold off my palio to my sister and i still use it.
But you never commented on what i said but only take wild guesses.

You have not seen banged up Marutis then? While the theory of heavier cars being safer is not true in totality, because a lighter car can have crumple zones etc. But this does not take away from the fact that Fiats are built to European safety standards (atleast that is what Fiat claims). And saying so, I would also appreciate the fact that Hondas, Toyotas and a host of other European cars have good safety ratings. I have seen palios banged up in head on collisions, one with a truck and having the passengers walk out virtually unscathed. But rarely have I seen a Maruti offer this kind of protection. A heavier car ( read a robustly built car) does have its merits.

Your choice of a Fusion+ was a good one. I would have bought a Fusion too if it was priced better.
