Baleno. Will take each of these cars out every inch of the way. The next choice would have to be Palio GTX. Though the ride could have been a bit better, who cares??!!!!

I would go for Opel Astra but since thats not an Option
Hey Adya, since the Astra is out of production, it hasn't been included.

@Samurai- The VTEC wasn't included since it doesn't qualify as a 1600 cc. And it is no longer in production either.

On another note, i tried to stick to sedans and hatchbacks as much as possible. Which is why you won't find Estates like the Altura, Weekend and Swing in this poll.

My choice is still the 1.6 GTX. Overlooking Fiat's problems, it still is one amazing car to buy. It rides well for a small hatch, is stonkingly fast and handles well enough to beat some sedans. Yes, its back in production which is why its on the list.

To me, a car is all about it's engine. I choose the Baleno.

I'll go for the Optra - decent performance, good ride, classy interiors good handling and good looks. The Baleno's just too outdated and though I love the Palio, Fiat's future is uncertain. My next choice would be the Ford Fusion. I just like it.

The GTX for me.. a die hard fan of the sound of the engine in the cabin and the simply fabulous torque figure..!!

for some time it was the baleno for me .but after recently driving a new e-3 baleno for abt 10kms with AC i was not at all impressed.but with the 80 profile tires the ride was superbb.and once we even managed to squeeze 4 people in the rear ,and it was manageable.

if fiat were to improve it's ASS,then i feel the petra would definitely be a better buy than the baleno.
the corsa sukks.though its got a great ride, its as cramped as my zen in the rear.

though i have voted for the GTX ,it will be close one between the ikon and the palio gtx.

but as u say its infinite time to choose,i would rather buy none of these .maybe would buy an OHC or probably wait for the 1.6 swift.

Palio 1.6GTX for me. Love the looks, ride, i really dont care about it... one really can't get everything in a car.... so for better handling at higher speeds, low end ride is comprimised.
Baleno comes a close second.

I'd opt for the Optra over the others anyday. Its a decent looking car with a sound engine, upmarket interiors and nice handling.
Baleno would be a close second, but i just cant digest its looks. For me looks are important, engine can be played around with.
