Based on the feedback I heard from many over the years I am asking this Question..Not to offend any of you.

How much do you spend on regular maintenance of this macho? (apart from modifications). Is the car allowing you to drive peacefully?

During early 2000, when I went to sell my Omni (for Rs.75,000), a car mediator asked me if I want to exchange with one of these? My friend who knows about cars asked me to run away from there. :-). I am not sure if I missed a good deal.

Thanks,

i change e.oil every 4000 - 5000 kms being driven in jungles of bangalore in lower gears and long drives once in two or three months.
gb oil and rear axle every 12000 kms.
front and rear suspension bushes every 30000 kms.
brake pads/liner when needed.
change any of the bushes whenever needed.
wheel alignment every 4000 kms.

some other things like inter cooler cleaning, air cleaner cleaning (k&n),etc periodically.

all this would never compare with a small hatch or a petrol omni. sierra is a much heavier vehicle offering better driving/riding comfort and that comes with its costs. there arejoys and there pains of driving a sierra.

Hi!!

In the mean time I got the manual (original one) from my colleague, so my wiring diagram requirement is taken care of.. I had fitted an additional fan blower at top (at the place where cabin light is located) for air circulation to rear seats, since I wanted to use the switch on cluster as 2 way, i needed wiring diagram to do it myself.

Like the saying goes - "Bagal mein chhora aur shahar mein dhindhora", I have 2 more Sierras among my colleagues and coincidently we all 3 sit in a row in our office :D (office neighbours). all the sierras are white and non turbo. (1995 - 96 models).

Hi All,

I have changed the turbo charger assy in my 97Dec model Turbo version, till now 'officially' the original KKK turbo had been driven for 172000kms.

The OE replacement is made by Turbo Energy, under license from KKK, Germany. Rs.17770/- being MRP. Got it at a discount from dealer. Total cost including cost of new gaskets and labour came to approx 17.2K.

The performance has improved and some bringe benefits too, - I feel some vibrations from engine have come down at idling. Have tested this for two weeks now and I feel the new turbo was a good investment.

Let me know if anyone needs anymore info.

Regards,
Viju

@ Vijuvarghese, Good find buddy. Is there any diffrence in the torque/ intial pickup...

pickup at rpm lower than 2k is not much different, but there is appreciable improvement in power at 2.2k to 2.8k rpms that i manage to upshift faster.

Hi Guys

I saw your pms and was unable to reply i was busy. For the past 3 months i am in London for an assignment. I have parked my bull in the garage at home despite people telling me to sell it off as i am not sure how much time i will be here. I have my friend who comes and take it out once in two weeks and then washes and put it back.

Once i am back i am planning for the following

1. New yokos
2. Suspension work
3. Repainting.

Hope you guys had the meet.

Note from Mod : Please stick to the title of the thread and only post on pictures of the Sierra.

Found this in the net. Quoted 3.5 Lakhs. i personally think the job is really good. One of the best butterfly wing door change that i have seen till date.

@Mjothi - KL-06 is in Idukki district. Please find the below Kerala Road Transport Registration codes (KL);

KL-01 Thiruvananthapuram KL-31 Mavelikara KL-02 Kollam KL-32 Cherthala KL-03 Pathanamthitta KL-33 Changanassery KL-04 Alappuzha KL-34 Kanjirappally KL-05 Kottayam KL-35 Palai KL-06 Idukki KL-36 Vaikom KL-07 Ernakulam KL-37 Vandiperiyar KL-08 Thrissur KL-38 Thodupuzha KL-09 Palakkad KL-39 Thripunithura KL-10 Malappuram KL-40 Perumbavoor KL-11 Kozhikode KL-41 Aluva KL-12 Wayanad KL-42 North Paravur KL-13 Kannur KL-43 Mattancherry KL-14 Kasaragod KL-44 Kothamangalam KL-16 Attingal KL-45 Irinjalakuda KL-17 Muvattupuzha KL-46 Guruvayur KL-18 Vatakara KL-47 Kodungalloor KL-19 Parassala KL-48 Wadakkancherry KL-20 Neyyattinkara KL-49 Alathur KL-21 Nedumangad KL-50 Mannarkkad KL-22 Kazhakuttam KL-51 Ottappalam KL-23 Karunagappally KL-52 Pattambi KL-24 Kottarakara KL-53 Perinthalmanna KL-25 Punalur KL-54 Ponnani KL-26 Adoor KL-55 Tirur KL-27 Thiruvalla KL-56 Koyilandy KL-28 Mallappally KL-57 Koduvally KL-29 Kayamkulam KL-58 Thalassery KL-30 Chengannur KL-59 Taliparamba KL-60 Kanhaghad

The wing door works seems to be very good. But i don`t like the they have done with the front of the car. Trying to immitate range rover looks? The original looks if retained would have been good.

Very nice work,
The main cause, because of which sierra was not popular was the lack of rear doors (problem to approach back seats) is removed beautiful manner.
Send these pictures to TATA MOTORS by which they can understand themselves.
Please provide the details about
1.Front grill
2.Head Lamps
3.Butterfly doors (borrowed from which model/ car)
4.OVRM
Try to get original stepny cover printed with TATA Sierra. Agreed alloy is looking beautiful but cover will be more beautiful (my personal view only).
Nice to see that modifier has kept front windows power operated till now (many people made this manually because of heavy glasses.)
Why there is multiple keys in key chain?
It is turbo or non turbo?

They are not borrowed from any war. They just cut it from the body.
