I really dont know how this car(Petrol) would be a VFM proposition if it would be priced above Swift. No way would it have the space of i20.

The diesel may sell as its a gem of an engine & those who dont like Swift's looks or are simply bored becasue there are so many of them will go for it.

Serious I somehow feel it would go the A star way if the pricing is not correct.

Well the Splash outside India is actually sold as an MPV. Also the earlier Wagon R had MPV sticker at back.

IIRC that was Wagon R MAV. I don't know whatever MAV stood for.

I dont understand why swift doesnt have the zdi variant and now even in case of ritz its a question mark??
if maruti are worried about the prices that would take the product well in to the next segment they should atleast try and offer it as an special edition and see the response. Then they should decide whether to continue or scrap the idea, considering the part sharing across the variants i dont think it would be a gamble of sorts.

MAV-multi activity vehicle, what else.Ritz has a van look too.But technocrat i would love to have ritz the A-star way regarding the engine.Nice power and good mileage.A-Star beats the swift petrol and almost makes up to swift diesel in the every day traffic if not better. In that case if we have a powerfull engine withot turbo lag issue i would certainly prefer the petrol ritz.It is as spacious as the i20.bigger than swift for sure.I dont know which dimensions are lesser than i20,i remember one point ,its almost 15 cms higher than i20.

ram, all tall boys are tall. what I skeptical about is width of the Ritz w.r.t. i20 & size of the boot. Besides a tall boy would never give the sam confidence as of a lower rboader car like Swift, Getz, i20.

I would loved to be proved wrong but from what I see thats how I feel.

i20 looks more wow than Ritz
Ritz look kind of Swift + Getz!

Hyundai wake up! Plonk the 1.3 in i20 and the brilliant CRDi in i20. Quick!

This one dint seem to be narrow either techno,Though being tall it felt really planted too.almost like an innova, innova like confidence is assured in this one.Boot space i feel is more than i20.Maybe an inch or so less wider but will that make that much of a difference,I am not sure.

Source: Maruti Suzuki targets to sell 1.4 lakh A-stars by the current fiscal*-*WheelsUnplugged Automobile Industry News

"Maruti is expanding its K-series line up in which we have 1 litre, 1.2 litre and 1.4 litre petrol engines with the 1 litre is already being used in the A Star while the 1.2 litre will be first seen in Ritz. Maruti is also looking at the possibility of a diesel variant for the mid-sized sedan SX4."

Where this 1.4 L K series engine going? Swift? SX4? Any update?
