Refer Murad Ali Begs Cars sales Bulletin of Jan 2005 in Cyber steering, the comparison of Palio vs. Sail sales was as below.

Palio (Jan 05) 204
(Apr-04-Jan05) 3,716

Corsa Sail
(Jan 05) 87
(Apr04 to Jan05) 1,976

This is the latest I know. Wonder what was it like in last 2 months, won't be much different I guess.

.

Segmentwise - you might have a point but overall GM are streets ahead with the Tavera and the Optra which give better margins. They are harvesting the Corsa until the Aveo/ Spark models kick in

The Corsa is nothing but an ornamental presence in the B Segment by GM. As Ajmat rightly said, add the Tavera and the Optra to that equation.

guys, Guys.
why this impatience.
Fiats were there in my dad's time and it will be in India when our children get married.
So long there are discerning buyers in india, Fiat is not going to perish.
long live my palio.

If Hindujas are buying it - then FIAT will go down further. For whatever the Hindujas are - In my opinion , they are what they are today because - they have supplied us a 100% outdated Trucks and Buses. Only until Volvo came into our country , did we realise the quality of buses/ Trucks . We should be thankfull of VOLVO - if not the TATAs and Hindujas would still continue to supply outdated, comfortless, pollutting trucks.

We should ask the Company owners - to Drive their own trucks - Iam sure they will NEVER.

Therfore , I assume that if Hindujas take over FIAT - then the car will never see any further enhancement in future.

Iam more than happy to be corrected

Maybe it was true in the case of Commercial vehicles. But in a highly competitive automobile field, I dont think that will be possible.

They wouldnt want to invest so much and then let it go waste.

Hey v s N my dad said the same thing. He said he learnt to drive in a Fiat, I learnt to drive in THE SAME fiat and maybe my kids too will learn to drive in a fiat.

Mumbai taxis and Petras then it will be like Narain(who drives a fast Jordan) in a Faster Ferrari They will drive the 1.6 like a Enzo and charge you 10 times the amount which they do now to account for Poor service.. and ofcourse as RT said in his post of the Taxis they will turn the car like without braking. Wonder where the Petra will land..
