Increasing fuel prices?

i mean, gimme a break....

why they have to go in for all this ****?? our govt is headed by a moron!

bloddy hell, cut the subsidies ...., bring BLOODY justice to all those ministers who EAT everything in the name of scam!!

It's disgusting!

gyz...wotsay?? a common man like me is feeling sidelined!!

post edited. the Govt gives subsidies to many sections of society. Granted most subsidies are given to gain political milage, granted that most subsidies (and other aid) get "mismanaged" and do not reach those they are meant for but we dont need to single out any one community. on a more humours note think of the lastest and future hikes as an opportunity to get smart sneakers - some are really smart (smarter than me atleast) see link below

ummm, it may not be a bad thing - except from a *pure* motorhead point of view. The planet could do with more responsible, better planned commutes and driving - and availability and use of public transportation. These prices will definitely force these "better habits"

guys, there had been question raised about how private petroleum companies like reliance make profit by retailing petrol and diesel at government regulated prices(APM), whereas the price of crude has gone up considerably, after going through the explanation available here, i understand that reliance sells its major share of its output in internaltional market at competitive prices and hence they make profit by exporting them, but if we go by that arguement, at the current fuel prices, are companies like shell and reliance make loss in their oil retailing business in india.

PSU's being run by the govt., can absorb loss by selling fuel at the current levels, but why should shell and reliance lose by selling the same price... i am not able to get the larger picture.... guys, help me out.

Well, for all those folks who own shiny cars and who bitch and moan about Rs.2-5 hike in petrol, I have no comments about them. But increasing petrol and diesel prices will hike prices of everything else including basic stuff like food etc. and it will effect more to the already poor people. It will increase price of everything, food, milk, medicine etc.

I drive Honda city and Hyosung Aquila who's average is aprrox same and its not going to directly effect me much even if they increase it by Rs.10/- per liter because i drive only 1200 km per month, but the question is that is it really necessary for them to increase petrol prices ? What government is doing about hike in global crude oil prices ? What is Indian government future strategy. Crude oil prices is predictive to touch $100 barrel this winter or for sure next winter then how Indian Government is going to provide us with affordable energy ? Will this collapse our economy? What about alternative fuels ?.

I think we should concentrate more on this rather then just saying I will put my vehicle on sale and this country sucks.

Many PM's, ministers and mayors in western europe drive themselves forget about having a convoy of cars with them.
Because no matter how much corrupt or (&*($&Uj they are, they are still important people. These guys just can not roam around with only 2 cars. They need vehicles for security, police, press, media and other people interested in affairs. All those cars driving with ministers convey are not vesting fuel !

Just my Rs.1 !

Saga begins and price hike is due in next few days

Reliance Industries (RIL) has hiked the retail price of petrol sold in its outlets by Rs 2.6 to Rs 2.9 per litre. The price increase came into effect from midnight on Thursday.
Now see the logic here(editing my msg again for this comment) Higher petrol prices will cause RIL’s petrol consumers to migrate to PSU pumps and this will increase losses for the PSUs resutling in a price hike in v.short term.
How many of you know that we still pay 1 Re.surcharge per liter for Gulf war between Iran and Iraq?Jay ho..new reforms zindabad!
