However hard fanboy I am of petrol but these days the price has now started pinching me and making me re think about the plan for the coming days.

The petrol prices rising towards north pole, the situation looks tough for petrol heads like me
I am so sure that government will work in such a way that the prices does not decline. Somebody posted on my facebook that we should start using bicycle for shorter distance

Re: Official tracker of Price hike's & cut's in petrol & diesel in India

Petrol will now be Rs 74 in Bangalore.

The day is not far when petrol will reach Rs 100 and difference between diesel and petrol will be Rs 40.

And the reasons they keep giving sound worthless - Dollar vs Rupees is now high so increase price. What were they doing when the conversion rate was less. Did they reduce the price.

Re: Fuel Price Thread

I do not know if this is OT here.

Everytime there is an increase in the FOL rates, we see a beeline in the bunks.
I have been part of that queue many a times.

Then I realized that I save 90/- for that wait (my tank gobbles 30 l at the emptiest).

Is it really worth that wait or is it just a psychological triumph.

Re: Fuel Price Thread

Any new on diesel hike?
The reason for this hike - Oil companies are loosing due to Rupee falling down, will they decrease the price when Rupee gains again? never ever happened in India.

.

Don't you already know the answer? Also did you consider the amount of fuel in burn while waiting (even if you keep starting and stopping)?

Re: Official tracker of Price hike's & cut's in petrol & diesel in India

Petrol will now be Rs. 74.5/litre in bangalore I definitely don't think the oil companies will be as enthusiastic as they are now, to reduce prices if the intl crude prices fall.

Will shell follow suit ?

Looks like petrol price will reach 100 before Sachin reaches his 100th 100. Now it will make buyers decision much easier to tilt towards a diesel car.

Re: Official tracker of fuel prices. EDIT : Petrol going UP again on 16th September,

Obviously this system of 'price decontrol' is fraudulent. (I had seen some worthies on this forum cheering 'price decontrol' . . where are they now). And ofcourse even though decontrol meant 'no limit on hike henceforth' nobody expected it to be so brutal and so drastic. I wonder why the petrol consumers take this lying down. There should be massive protests in India and if needed we need to take down this govt and burn down their offices to teach them a lesson. This can't just keep going on.

I said exactly the same thing to my wife. In fact I used the same example as well.

I don't bother tanking up when the price goes high. Its NOT worth it.
Its funny when you see bikes that reportedly give 60 kmpl and with 12 liter tanks waiting to do the same.

Re: Official tracker of fuel prices. EDIT : Petrol going UP again on 16th September,

Slow poison, really. The govt & oil companies must have already decided on their "target" rate and are gradually coming to that with small, frequent price hikes.

On the one hand, they say they want to control inflation. My foot!!!!! 3 years back, 75 bucks a liter would have been unthinkable. Now, it's staring us in the face.
