re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

Petrol price now stands at Rs. 65.23/-.

Any news on if Shell is planning a hike? (Shell is now more than a rupee cheaper than others)

I think Shell will follow suit after a couple of days. There is no way they can sustain this price.

Shell normal is 64.20 in Mysore... increased by 1 rupee.
Shell is now cheaper than other PSUs.... all the more reason to go to shell.

Can there be a 4 rupee diff. between states?
Or Shell has increased prices again?

I think Shell is cheaper in Karnataka and more costly in neighbouring states. Regarding the 4 rupee price difference, I noticed that fuel was cheaper by around 4 rs in Hassan and Belur, when compared to Bangalore and Chikmagalur. I wonder why the difference was so high.

re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

Filled up at Shell (Rajkumar Road) yesterday @ 65.20, it's a tad cheaper than PSU prices right now. But the attendant told me that they were expecting a 2+ rupee hike sometime this week. So I think there is a little window for cheaper shell fuel this week.

I guess the reason the PSU's are increasing petrol to this extend is more to cover costs for diesel also? In that case Shell might be able to keep the cost lower.

Is the price of Shell petrol consistent across the city (Hyderabad) or is it different for each location?

re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

Shell has always adapted a cost + pricing so I don't think they would be losing money at the current rates, though my grouse against them is in Chennai their prices are higher by more than Rs.3/- compared to Bangalore even if I take Re.1/- as transportation costs from Bangalore to Chennai. Despite my repeated attempts to get the message conveyed to the higher ups through their pumps have not been successful, Ganesan sir, may be you should also start from your end "Siru Thuli Peru Vellam".
