Gendarmee, hope this clears your doubt.
Ford Ikon Flair to have 1.4TDCI and Fiesta to have 1.6TDCI-slat.jpg

I can understand what you are saying. Lot of people are going to say that.

The front looks quite fresh, though. The only dies that seems to have been re-tooled are the bonnet & the front bumper.

If Ford is smart they will give this car a name to go with the facelift.

I was telling my friend about the new IkonD and he was like "No, way...Ikon is old crap that xyz uncle had 8 years ago" I want something new like SwiftD.

Ford will definitely be giving the ikon D a new name. There is other car maker in the country who has named the same car with more than three or four names.

Escort just before phasing out was renamed to orion.
Ikon when launched in petrol they changed it to flair.

From the pics of the new TDCi I saw in Chennai sometime back, I remember the badging as Ikon wonly!

@backrub,
What I think you meant to say was that Ford will be launching a new variant and not giving the old car a new name.
Like the Escort became the Escort Orion variant, the Ikon 1.3 CLXi Rocam became the Ikon Flair 1.3, just like the Fiesta is available as the 1.6 ZXi, SXi and S.
I am eagerly waiting for the Ikon Diesel as it will offer a fully loaded budget diesel sedan with one of the most modern engines.

@FH : The badging remains Ikon TDCi. The 'TDCi' is in the same spot as "Flair" is currently.

@Lambo, cant call it a modern engine - it's a gen old now, when you comare it with the MJ / QJ/ Swift. It is also not fully loaded at this time. Just one variant, that has not even the alloys / 14's. Ref my earlier post (prev page).

The car I saw had 2 vertical masking strips on the tail lamp cluster, I wondered why, because they were too thin and the rest of the cluster appeared unchanged to my untrained eye. As reported by Fountainheader there were no decal changes at the back, but I did not get to see the front fenders.

Looking at the Ford Bantam launch in SA

I think this is the confirmation of how the front will look like

Yup, this should be the final version. Just did a minor crop of the image from the link above to see how the sedan would look like. Here it is :

Is the current Ikon Flair equipped with alloys, leather seats, power door locks and fog lamps? If no, will the face lifted Ikon have them?

Also, any idea on the pricing of the new Ikon?

Going by the looks of it, nothing more will be offerred than what's already on offer, except the TDCi engine, ofcourse. Condor has already mentioned it has a digital odometer, which the current version doesnt have.

Correct. Saw a couple of them on way to Chennai today. Not much changes in the rear though. Front looked pretty much like the picture here.

Power door locks and fog lamps- Are standard.

Alloys, Leather seats- are part of the optional upgrade.
Like in regular cars there are versions like sxi, vxi, zxi there is only one for the ikon and they have these upgrades that they call blast packs with which on can add stuff eg alloys, leather seats, seat covers, floor mats, mud flaps, exhaust trim, remote boot release, decklid, twin horns ect ect

Neat pic, makes things pretty clear.
Front looks good.

Any idea if they added a digital display in the meter console?

Condor who has personally seen the car says, yes.
As for the question above which you answered, the alloys and leather are part of optional stuff, with there being just one standard variant. That explains my answer, as they arent standard.
