Most likely Taj WestEnd. Its the center of town.

BTW, the Oberoi is not a Taj Hotel

Bravo & Fiat 500 and IVECO 4X4

I met up with the team that was drivng the ferraris' around India, during their stopover at Madurai. The team included the 2 Ferraris', 2 wingers, a Safari, a Tata Crewcab, a 500, a Bravo and an incredible IVECO 4X4.
I managed to get a short drive on the 500, which had the 1.3 multijet diesel. The car is incredibly well put together, with a huge sunroof and is very, very elegant. The car is very tractable and well insulated from the inside. As all this was at 10:30 pm, and the meetup was sudden, I did not have my camera, i managed to get some very bad photographs on a friends cam. Will post them soon as I transfer them.
The Bravo had 2 sunroofs and is be-ooo-tiful!! The car makes the Fabia look cheap in comparison. The Bravo came with the 1.9 multijet and the all too short drive made me actually lust for it. This car rocks. The engine actually seems quieter than the 1.3.
The centre of attraction however, was the incredible IVECO 4X4. This truck is a monster and most of the photographs I took were of this. This would be the truck for India, forget the Hummer andthe AXE.
Oh and by the way, the Ferraris' were ok too!

What is that IVECO thing ! I googled and all I could see was an ugly looking truck on their website resembling our Tata 407. Please, share pics if its something that I missed.

Really? How did you know that?

I thought it was a Ferrari awareness drive before they officially launch the same in India!

The group are on a Fiat sponsored drive called "Magical India". All the vehicles are Fiat vehicles with Tata support vehicles. This is not a coincidental meeting but a planned tour.
By the way, the Italians on the tour are an un-friendly bunch with a real attitude problem.

Thanks. In these pics, IVECO looks better than it looks on its website (palatable). I was looking at it from practical point of view. It may be good in suburban territory/ off road but in city traffic it may become a pain unless it has auto tranny.

The bhp specs that I saw on the website was not very impressive but then I guess, 4*4 is its USP apart from massive size and tractability. You mentioned that it may be coming to India, any idea when and how much it may cost?

Nice pics Jyobeb. Did you get a chance to peek into the engine bay of the IVECO?

Wow, can you post a credible source of your information? OR Is it like the "Truth about DDIS" thread of yours?
