If they get this out at even 2 lakhs OTR, it'll give the Maruti 800 and Alto a run for their money.

I am quite sure Bajaj will offer many variants on the car like a 150cc version, then a 180cc, 200cc, 220cc

Alloys might make it to production, knowing Bajaj, who bought the trend of having alloys on almost all its vehicles, now all companies are offering it.

Humara Bajaj

The pictures are amazing. Really surprises me as to how much we've progressed. Bajaj has done some amazing work on the design front, and I absolutely love the concept.

If they do manage to produce the final product at anything below 2 lacs (on road) with a mileage of 25+ kmpl, it will be a runaway hit.

Looks like we're going to see a lot more cars on the roads in the next few years. This is all about making cars more affordable and more suited for local conditions.

Excellent job, BAJAJ !!!

Keep it up.

Really cool, but front looks a bit like the tata 1L car we saw isnt it?
Is that the reason to reveal the car even before the show?
In any case, its really good design and looks like they have a winner.
Finally finally we can see some m800 competitors!

Ooh as I look closely, no AC vents in the center! Looks like they have a more powerful windsheild vent (from the reflection in one of the photos).

I guess the snaps are from rediff. Please visit the link rediff.com: Here's the Bajaj small car!

I feel its mixture of almost all small cars , WagonR,Santro,Matiz,Spark and even Merc A class ans the smart.

Well the car looks cool. May be the rear would have been a bit better.

Anyways Bajaj will not be positioning it as 1 Lac car. Its USP is going to be the fuel efficiency.

Here's the video of the interview with Rajiv Bajaj by CNBC : Moneycontrol.com - Video Home

This does not look a production ready model. More likely a demonstration of capabilities and a what-we-could-make-in-future thing, to gauge the janta's interest.

The interiors are exceedingly bland, but will do fine against cars like Maruti 800 if priced around 1.5 ~ 1.8 Lacs. Now have to wait for Bajaj to release more information.

Is it mentioned anywhere this is going to be a 1L car?? I don't think it will ever be made for that price unless Bajaj has some good plans with Excise guys and government lobbies for special subsidies etc..... Which is near impossible.

A great design. Good and worthy job from Bajaj for sure. Who did they have in their designing team to do this great????

Come to think of it, if they add two identical cylinders to the 220 engine, you get a 660 CC engine that's similar in capacity to that of Tata's car. As for air-cooled versus water-cooled, well, you have the successful example of Tatra heavy duty trucks doing duty with Indian army, all with air-cooled engines!

From the Interview it is clear that it is a concept and not at all production ready. Bajaj is going to take another 2-4 years, around that time the whole Car scenario may take some other twist. Good car if launched in next six months with reasonable price else may just be another concept.

CNBC-TV18 mentioned sometime in 2009, not so far. Is this a pure bajaj design or has it something to do with Renault?

A good design although looks inspired from i10 Spark Estilo but still very good for a bike maker. The steering looks straight from the Spark though.

I think they will position it as a low cost(around 2L) high mileage(~20 kpl) car than a 1 L car
