Yes the car has come out well. Getting a used dashboard is, I feel, would not be difficult.

In JC road, you will find metallic wheel caps, why dont u buy a new dashboard from Maruti Genuine Spares shop?, I know 3 of their outlets, one is just opposite to Urvashi Theatre, second one in Bommanahalli and third one near Agara on ORR.

Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

A Maruti 800 SS80 (or rather an earlier Suzuki Alto with round headlights) featured in a Pace Setter battery advertisement sometime in 1983.
The title says "featured here is a high technology vehicle soon to be seen on Indian roads". The orange pencil colouring were done by me on the advertisement.

As I have mentioned earlier in this thread, the SS80 is a very reliable car IF its Original electrical system has not been tampered with.If somebody has put additional relays, tinkered with the wiring harness, this car tend to develop lot of problems.Dont change the original Distributor.try changing the points, condenser.(go for genuine items) also get a good heavy duty Ignition coil .

Yes this is the ad which I had referred to, earlier in this thread. There was an entire series with the similar copy but featuring other cars; I do not remember vividly but Standard 2000 et al.

Thanks Ajay!!
I really have no idea if the mechanics have tampered with the electric system,in my knowledge no extra relays, wiring harness I need to check? I will try changing the points and the condenser for the Ignition coil they have replaced with MGP ( could you specify any company pls).
are there any Bangalore Bhpians who can suggest any good mechanic for the electric job and the mechanics pls advice it will be of great help to me.
I have changed the petrol filter as the petrol was getting into the engine and the car would stop after it heated up... any reason behind this??

Interesting number- price doesnt sound too exorbitant, so doesnt need too much of 'GUT's to buy her!

All the better assuming tis an original DX...the clarion cassette stereo seems to be broken off though?

With those hideous plastic hubcaps, films and stickering off should make a nice car.

Note the 800 in the picture is a Left hand Drive car.

This one could have been the picture of a Japanese example as our full fledged production had begun only in early 1985.
The battery maker was perhaps prematurely eager to show its association with the future car of India !

Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

This HAS to be the most horrible paint job ever done on a SS80....

and this one the most horrible "sporty" mod.

Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

This one is from 1983 (The Hindu) just after the Maruti- Suzuki partnership came alive, with the MOU getting signed and Gurgaon was in the news all the time. The cars were yet to roll out of the assembly line.
