True. Also the Hindustan Police van belong to those years, which are not seen for the last several years.

Nice ride Shwetank , kudos to your father who had maintained it in such good shape even in the deadliest traffic conditions of Allahabad.

Thanks for all the compliments, which I've passed on to my father. Makes him very happy to know there are people to appreciate his efforts.
I'll be posting more pictures on the forum soon.
Thanks.

my SS80 finally gone for macro restomod...

following being done...

1. Conversion of F8B Carb engine to Fuel Injection, gear box overhaul
2. Upgraded cooling system/ radiator
3. Installation of a proper HVAC
4. Installation of power steering
5. Booster assisted brakes
6. Total restoration of bodywork with rust removal, body pulling and alignment
7. Mod of front and rear with new bumpers, grille & lights ( to be designed and fabricated)
8. New interiors
9. New suspension
10. Alloys and low profile tyres

some pics of very initial works.. pics of FI conversion in progress to follow soon..

...lots of attention required to body work... snaps speak a lot.. bad dent beating over the years, rust formation, body parallex error to name a few...

some initial pics of FI conversion... not too clear... original engine block used and converted to an FI motor.... engine test fired with expected boost in power (5-7 BHP)..

the red colour on the front right fender panel is the one of the new colours being explored on the car... exploring between many new colours... pearl white, mustard, cyan, etc...

the doors in white are new (sourced from a vendor in Kashmere Gate) as the old doors had started rusting with rust showing every 2-3 years after body work restoration...

Some pics of the car before it went for restomod.

Looks Great.....Can You post some more pictures. Especially the engine bay. Did You get the booster installed. I am searching for a good mechanic in Bangalore to install a booster. Would appreciate if You could post some pictures of the booster after having installed it.

Hi....I am also having the same model. I have been trying to fit a brake booster in my car. Can You give me Your mechanic's number?

That is a beautiful restoration Sir. You had mentioned in an earlier post somewhere that Your tinkerer had installed a booster in this particular model. I am also having the same model. I am searching for a good mechanic in Bangalore to install a booster. Can You give me Your mechanic's number? Would appreciate if You could post some pictures of the booster after having installed it.

Thanks Shashi, this is indeed a rare specimen

Unfortunately, the colour shades are listed only in the SB308 brochure and I think 2 of those shades (Biscuit and Bright Blue) were only introduced for SB308 series. However, I think the 4 that were carried over from SS80 was the same shades without colour changes.

Here are the SS80 shades and how they actually look on the car:
(Pictures from this very thread)

Apple Red
Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX-apple_red.jpg

New Zealand Brown

Francoise White

Maruti Green (I didn't know the exact name of this shade till now, Thanks)

The additional colour that was available in SS80 and didn't get carried over is the sky blue shade - is it Powder Blue?

Ajay99 or any other in-house SS80 experts please confirm on this shade as well as any other SS80 colour I missed.

The SS80 came in these shades-Francoise white,Apple red,Newzealand brown,Powder Blue and Maruti Green.(thanks to the brochure, the actual name is now known, people were calling it Emerald green,Leaf green, bottle green, etc!)
The new colours introduced for SB308 were Bright blue(Not racing blue as some people were mentioning) and Biscuit,Later Bayer Blue replaced the bright blue shade and Cairo Dust Replaced NewZealand brown,Sea Foam green replaced Maruti green

Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

This is probably the only reason why I shared the brochure- so that fellow enthusiasts and perfectionists are benefited.
And it seems my motive is fulfilled.
