Hyundai i20 update

Have been saying for a while that i20 is going to be lauched end of the year as Hyundai wanted only 09 deliveries.

Finally my source confirmed that the i20 is going to be launched on 29th Dec 08!

Initially it will be avilaible ONLY in 1.2 Kappa engine. By Feb first week the Diesel 1.4 will make its debut. Later the 1.4 Gamma engine will make its debut.

Also i10 diesel is expected to be out by March 09 and Santa Fe CONFIRMED by April 09.

Thanks Elito. But I don't see any buzz in the dealerships - called 3 and all talk about mid-Jan launch. Anyways, I'm hoping the TD vehicles arrive soon!

Last weekend, a salesperson in Sanjay Hyundai, Pune, told me that though reports have started coming on the net, the i20 is coming only some time in March! He said that if I am planning for Getz, it's better to wait for i20 - so it's not like he was trying to steer me to Getz by saying that i20 will take time. Looks like he was genuinely misinformed. Strange, isn't it?

Amit.

atlast good news for i20 diesel after a long wait. I was just waiting for i20 diesel. Let us see and hope for the best. hope this diesel car wont let me down as i wanna drive a powerful VGT hatchback like getz crdi with ABS instead of a sedan like verna or embera or elantra.

Now thats a positive move that will send out the right signals in the market.

Is a company called Fiat listening? This i20 (or even i10) was not even on the radar when people started posting about the Grande Punto and the Linea on this forum several years (slight exaggeration, please allow me the license) back.

In contrast the i10 came as a complete surprise, and the i20 looks like it will be making a debut soon.

Maybe Fiat is waiting for Hyundai to launch the i30 before deciding on when to launch the Linea.
