Mercedes-Benz GLB 7-seater SUV discontinued in India

Mercedes GLB discontinued in India.

Mercedes India’s entry-level 7-seat SUV has been pulled off the shelves, as allocations for our market have stopped.

While Mercedes-Benz has confirmed a new GLB is on the cards for India, it is unclear if the German brand means the facelift, or the new-gen model that is currently under development.

Not surprised since I think I’ve only seen one or two in the flesh on our roads. MB India really screwed the pooch by booting the B-Class in favour of this I feel. That too just when the market was beginning to appreciate cars like the B-Class

I understand that an SUV in every segment is a must but the GLB is not that much more practical compared to a GLA. I hope they forgo the new GLB in favour of the B-Class and just let the GLA keep doing it’s thing.

I have to agree with you here. B class was such a lovely vehicle. I would love to buy it even today.

The pricing just didn’t make sense. It was a Kodiaq competitor with an absurd price tag. But then again, which entry level luxury car even makes sense these days.

Re: Mercedes-Benz GLB 7-seater SUV discontinued in India

Main problem with this car was its price. The previous generation GLC was just 2-3 lacs more expensive than it. Oh common it is a GLB, pricing should be exactly between GLA and GLC but it wasn't, it was just a extended 7 seater GLA ( interior, suspension and all parts were same), just like Creta and Alcazar. I don't know what Merc was thinking pricing it close to GLC.

Secondly, design wise it was neither here nor there. It didn't look like 7 seater butch suv neither it looked like 5 seater good looking crossover and person spending 75 lacs wants looks man!

The Mercs, BMWs & Audis are forced to have much higher prices to keep their brand image. Sometimes it makes sense and sometimes it doesnt.

The B is a lovely car, most comfortable but I won't buy it unless I have a driver to drive me around.
