Mahindra Thar, XUV700 facelifts arriving in 2026

Two of Mahindra's highest-selling models, the Thar and XUV700, are set to receive facelifts in 2026.

- Thar facelift will adopt design changes similar to Thar Roxx.
- Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e to influence styling updates for the XUV700 facelift.
- Both updated SUVs will likely have the same engine and gearbox options.

Re: Mahindra Thar, XUV700 facelifts arriving in 2026

Exciting news, and I really hope Mahindra fixes the XUV700 suspension issues. Such a potential car deserves a better suspension setup, even if it costs a little more, I would prefer a much stable and predictable suspension.

About Thar, I feel its already a near perfect car. If Mahindra doesn't screw up majorly, fixes the niggles and gives 1.5 diesel with torque converter, it's good enough for majority of us.

Thanks sharmanova for sharing this. I’ve been eagerly waiting for some news on XUV700 facelift.

Wondering what’s the new model W609 in the works!!!

I am a proud owner of XUV700 AWD. The one thing I miss is captain seats in second row. I wish Mahindra will address this in the facelift

Are you comparing XUV700 and Thar Suspension setup and finding Thar to be near perfect ?

That’s quite a contrast to my personal observations while driving both on almost daily basis !

Re: Mahindra Thar, XUV700 facelifts arriving in 2026

The 2-door Thar desperately needs a facelift. It needs a lot of goodies from the Thar Roxx, including the nicer interiors, that electric power steering (must have!) and more amenities. It's feeling old now.

While the XUV700 is still damn competent, it is also starting to show its age and needs a design update, with feature additions.

Okay the engine can still be up-tuned for both the cars, anyways Mahindra should look to get range extenders for both the cars

Re: Mahindra Thar, XUV700 facelifts arriving in 2026

My only wish for the facelifted XUV700 would make the designers and Anand Mahindra chase me with pitchforks. Remove those flush door handles and put some normal ones. Or maybe they could put the BMW style flap handles or atleast make the motorised handles as standard across the range.

The Thar 3D defintely needs the upgrades that the Roxx has, but bigger screens? Pray it retains the volume knob and physical buttons. Scorpio Classic? Curious to know what the improvements would be.

The W609. Creta rival? XUV300/400 successor? Super curious to know what it would be. Or maybe Mahindra is planning for an Ertiga rival or Marazzo successor.

Wonder how the work on the Bolero family is going on.

Re: Mahindra Thar, XUV700 facelifts arriving in 2026

Don't know if it is an appropriate thread to post this, but spotted a Mahindra XUV 3XO wearing red plates and the 'blue' camo being tested. Was in dense traffic plus was driving hence couldn't click a picture.

It had the XUV 3XO headlights and the grille, the alloys were same as the AX7L trim.

Is it an electric 3XO being tested? Or the XUV400 is getting a facelift? (Spotted it in my ORVM, couldn't gauge if it was longer or sub-4m)

The blue camo definitely hints towards an EV variant.

Probably that can be a potential 15 Aug launch

Great news!

Have always been eyeing the XUV700 since its launch. This seems like a good upgrade to my 2015 Creta, or maybe the W609; if it's the size of XUV500. Can't wait to see what M&M bring to the table given their recent launches since the Roxx

My intention was not to compare directly, looks like my message gives that impression. Let me make it clear, in my experience Thar handled massive potholes on Bangalore roads very well compared to XUV700. Infact Crysta handles it much better than XUV700, wrt potholes. Same with older Creta. XUV700's suspension is noisy, busy and unpredictable at city speeds. At highway speeds, its a different story though. So my concern is only with XUV700 alone, even if we do not bring comparisons.

Service center guys mentioned that almost all XUV700 owners ask them to check suspension during service, because of noise and it became norm for them to tell "It's by design"

Mahindra please do not change exterior looks in Thar 3door Facelift.
Thar Roxx front facia and side profile looks very comical to me. I understand it was to avoid legal issues with Jeep.

Re: Mahindra Thar, XUV700 facelifts arriving in 2026

Having owned the 2020 3-door Thar and now the 2024 5-door Thar Roxx (MX3 P AT), I can say the biggest positive differences on the Roxx are as below. It would make a world of difference to get added to the 3-door's facelift.
  • Suspension - The Roxx is at least 50% better in terms of comfort as compared to the 3-door. The mGlide platform that M&M spoke of at the time of Thar Roxx Launch is not just a hype, it really works. I would say the Roxx's suspension is midway between the 3-door Thar and a monocoque like the XUV 700 in terms of comfort and reduction of the constant jiggly feel you get on the 3-door.
  • The EPS is superb and will be a valuable addition to the 3-door Thar. It is effortless at city speeds and weighs up reasonably at higher speeds. Upto 120 kph, the steering feels confident and beyond that, one would wish it tightens up a bit more.
  • Centre armrest on the Thar Roxx is a big blessing and would be a great addition to the 3-door Thar
  • Infotainment is excellent across variants of the Roxx. I have just an MX3 but even this variant has a nice 10 inch crisp infotainment with Android Auto.
  • The metal top on the Roxx significantly reduces wind noise, especially in the non-sunroof variants like MX3. It does creep up upwards of 90 kph, but at a much lesser decibel level than the 3-door.
  • The rear defogger and wiper is something I missed even in my top end LX 4X4 variant of the Thar 3-door. It is present even in the mid MX3 variant of the Roxx and hugely helpful in rainy conditions.
  • Rear disk brakes - adds a lot in terms of confidence.

I am glad having never dealt with such ‘Service Centre Guys’ ,apart from apple Car play niggles the only Issue I faced was football in the back wherein you get liquid splashing noise with full gasoline tank.

However, when I raised a complaint ,they replaced the Petrol Tank with a changed baffle design.IMHO,this should have been an ethical recall by Mahindra for all XUV700 owners.

Being a Design Engineer myself ,i have a firm opinion ,no one can get an escape from a bad design element,
it has to be fixed.

I respectfully disagree with your observations on Thar suspension ,in my opinion this tall-boy is never
Settled on road like the planted monocoque ride quality of XUV700.

But to each it’s own
