Re: A Close Look | Dark Editions of the Citroen Basalt, C3 & Aircross

Is the fuel tank increase from 30 to 45 litres across all variants or is it only in dark edition. I see on the website showing 30 litres for the other variants.

Re: A Close Look | Dark Editions of the Citroen Basalt, C3 & Aircross

All three cars look really good styling wise but I guess the list of good things end then and there. Citroen would really have to work on the other attributes of the mother brand: awareness, product being update to date with common functionalities, assurance of right service among many others. Those door handles are decades old and look so out of place in a car from 2020s.

Totally agree with point no.1.
Except during the launch week, I haven't seen a single ad for the Basalt or any of their vehicles even once. Meanwhile I get a Skoda Kylaq add every other video and a Banner add by Maruti/Nexa under every video pushing their Brezza and Grand Vitara models.

If Maruti the Juggernaut in Indian Auto industry despite its huge Market share and taken for granted user base still does advertisement religiously how are Citroen's top Honchos expecting their cars to be selling in any meaningful numbers without showing customers that they even exist?

I too am waiting for the Aircross to get some of these "standard" features to make it a more compelling buy. The car seems mechanically sorted, comfortable ride and is a good looker (my personal opinion). Just needs that little bit extra to force my hand to pull out the chequebook. Looks like the wait must continue.

Lol, it's not an AMT. It's a proper torque converter box - 6 speed. It's one of the reasons why I got my C3 AT.

Citroen, if you're listening, pls advertise properly!

Re: A Close Look | Dark Editions of the Citroen Basalt, C3 & Aircross

The car looks better, and the chevron black logo looks classy, but other elements like dark badging, dark stitching on seats scream cheap.

I feel TATA really deserves a pat on the back for retaining the black-edition game like none other.

I feel the Indian audience has become very demanding, and Citreon should know we have numerous options to pick a better car in the same price band.

Sorry, but I lost it at the 'black cupholders'

Felt like @Aditya lowkey trolling the Citroen Dark editions.

The C3 seats kinda looks plain jane compare to the C3 Aircross and Basalt. Almost like the cheap seat covers offered by Maruti dealers that destroy whatever support the seats have and make them flat.

Re: A Close Look | Dark Editions of the Citroen Basalt, C3 & Aircross

This is the most boring dark edition treatment to have been launched in our market. I will even go on and say that this might be a way to cut costs by making the interiors look cheap in that all black colorway.

Kudos to Citroen dealers for pushing through with such low sales.

Dark versions really stand out! I hope Citroen India act fast and launch the Euro version of the C3, same car underneath but a lot more appealing inside out and also expand their presence.

Re: A Close Look | Dark Editions of the Citroen Basalt, C3 & Aircross

Citreon as a company needs a complete revamp to remain relevant in the indian market let alond turning profitable .
Top down product strategy of citroen was great to begin with but was a disaster due to the completely off pricing of C5 aircross which literally gasped in the market despite offering such a great engine , gearbox and suspension .
Nd i do think their idea of launching the subsequent models priced too low with the car being barebones back fired giving the brand a cheap image which was similar to what happened to the Nano.
Now personally i feel they need to hire people who know the indian market ,infuse capital into brand building betting on the legacy and simultaneous launching newer and fresher products with maximum features, retaining all their current USP and disrupt the market for any existence beyond 1 year in the Indian market

Re: A Close Look | Dark Editions of the Citroen Basalt, C3 & Aircross

Citroen should seriously rethink its India strategy. Firstly they came really late in the game. Granted that their products may have some merit but the overall packaging, pricing, obvious scrimping on features (more buck, less bang), lack of a proper sales and service network and the attitude of "we know what they want and this is what they want" is pretty much going to be their downfall.

Reset. Reboot. Retreat!

Re: A Close Look | Dark Editions of the Citroen Basalt, C3 & Aircross

This brand is the perfect example of "first impression is the best impression". No matter what they do now, people will always remember and associate them with the bare-bone interior of Citroen C3's first launch. Every single autojournalist and Youtuber shat on Citroen's stupid strategy, and rightfully so. Their explanation of a bad Driver's instrument cluster was "to reduce distractions". They forgot that they had planted a giant infotainment screen just to the left of that. Also, choosing launch colour of the car as white was just a plain stupid idea. They forgot that even though Indians buy white basic variants of cars, they buy them BECAUSE they see the colourful, feature-rich, top-end variant.

Even their brand ambassador selection is not suitable for them. Don't get me wrong; I like Dhoni, but for a struggling brand, they should've roped in someone like Ranveer Singh. Young and energetic, he will happily scream from the rooftops if you pay him well (or a young and upcoming cricketer). Dhoni, who's almost at the end of his cricket career, is a really bad choice for a brand that's almost hanging on to its last thread.

Even Dhoni in the advertisements and media interactions, looks and feels like he is doing a favour with his presence. His cold looks (though liked on the cricket field) are just as bland as Citreon cars. You are right, Ranveer would have been the best choice considering this brand requires a lot of energy and over the top marketing to be heard and looked. I love the Basalt and really waiting for them to update it before I put my money on it. I sincerely hope they keep their DNA intact and just add better infotainment and MID, cruise control, TPMS and better audio system. I want them to be the anomaly to 'First impressions are the best impressions'

Re: A Close Look | Dark Editions of the Citroen Basalt, C3 & Aircross

Citroen needs to pull their socks up when it comes to service / sales experience. I have raised a test-drive experience online and so far haven't heard yet from anyone. Also, lots of horror stories regarding the after-service experience, I see both their service and sales outlets dwindling with no cohesive strategy. I was evaluating A5 Aircross and realized that I will probably be the only one buying it on that month, in this country, if I go through with the decision. It's a shame really, I would like to experience the french suspension/setup that is supposedly cushy.

Re: A Close Look | Dark Editions of the Citroen Basalt, C3 & Aircross

Unlike what some others experienced, I actually had a great time yesterday at La Maison Citroen Nungambakkam, hosted by Salman from the sales team.
He was super helpful, answered all my questions without being pushy, and arranged a long test drive.
I got to try both the Basalt AT and MT (MY25) for a solid two hours with my better half, in the city and on the 4-lane Chennai bypass.

The new Dark Edition package is really impressive- a big step up from the current lineup and much nicer to live with.
The cabin feels a lot less plasticky now. Interestingly the Dark Edition is cheaper than the top end model, makes it look like a no brainer among the lineup, good strategy Citroen!

Hopefully, Citroen brings the same interiors to the other color options too. Love how quickly they’re updating the lineup.
