Re: March 2025 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Jeep is hardly selling 300 vehicles per month, and dealers are already feeling the heat. In Navi Mumbai the Landmark group has merged the Jeep's service centers with Renault's. It might start happening at other places and with other brands as well.

I am curious to know Creta EV sales. I think it will be great if Creta ev sales can be separately mentioned like MG does with Astor & ZS since.

Re: March 2025 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Hyundai's total EV sales for March 2025 reached 849 units. However, since the Ioniq 5 accounted for only 19 of those, the effective sales figure stands at 830. Still, these are strong numbers.

Re: March 2025 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Kia sold 230 Carnivals, 520 EV6s and 18 EV9s. These are great numbers. Kia is positioning itself as a more premium and aspirational brand than Hyundai.

Especially with EV9 costing close to 1.4CR. when did we see Hyundai or even VW/Honda selling a car anywhere close to those numbers in India? Those numbers for a non-German car are unheard of. Kia isn't afraid of taking risks. Risks they've taken so far have paid off well.

Actually facelifted EV6 got launched and they sent across 520 EV6 for CAFE reasons. It is one way to be compliant for the year. They already were protected to pay fine as of last year.

EV6 will be available again with 20-25 lakh discount soon.

Re: March 2025 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Wondering what's wrong with MG in the last 2 months! Hector was doing 2500+ units until Jan and all of a sudden it's doing 500+ which is hard to explain. The brand which surged ahead of Skoda and Honda is now lagging behind.

Is that a precursor to completely ditch the ICE and move to EV only? Why can't they bring the hector strong hybrid selling elsewhere?

It is interesting to see Windsor doing well and better than the Mahindra twins (BE and XEV) and probably giving a good fight to Tata. I am also observing many Windsors on the road these days. Looks like it is on the right track!

Re: March 2025 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

A tale about 4 cars.

Kia Syros --> It's too early to call, but there is no excitement anywhere for the car. Those buying it are buying it instead of Sonet, I feel. I hope the 5-star crash rating improves its value before Kia is forced to do a price correction, a rare misstep from them.
The General Consensus is that it is a competent car which is not firing due to its Price.

MG Windsor --> Blockbuster car that came without any real hype. Just saw a thread that it has crossed 20K sales and has been the top EV seller for 4 months straight.
The General Consensus is that it is a competent car which is firing due to its bang on price.

Skoda Kylaq --> Again, it's too early to call, but there is a good amount of excitement in the general public and seems to have clicked. I was in Kerala recently when I met a family friend, a senior citizen, who traded his Polo for Kylaq. Polo was due for an upgrade and he wanted a small car for city runs and Kylaq "Fit to T" as per him. He also mentioned that had VW released their Kylaq version, he would have gone blindly for that.
The General Consensus is that it is a competent car which is firing due to its reasonable price, at least in the lower versions.

Tata Curvv --> More than 6 months in the market and the dispatch numbers are coming down and not going up which is a bad sign. Unlike other TATA products, Curvv had all the options from day 1 -- Petrol, Diesel , Electric, Manual, Auto, everything.
The General Consensus is that it is a competent car which is not firing due to its Price.

This makes one wonder, why even after so many real-time cases happening in front of their eyes, OEMs still go wrong with pricing.

Maybe Financial year-end clearance. Even Nissan has shipped 15 X-Trails. If they couldn't sell 15 cars the whole year, I doubt they will in a single month.

Vellfire has a 6-8 month waiting period. Don't think it's the case of year end clearance.
Even with these enhanced dispatches, The waiting period will stretch into months.

The EV6 could be year end clearance though.

Re: March 2025 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Happy to see Honda City gaining momentum.

Hope it continues to grow and regains its status as a segment leader.

I am in the market for a car/crossover for my parents, with a tight budget of under 16 lakhs, and the Honda City ticks our boxes due to its VFM. But, Honda needs to update the interiors of the City-- would love a freestanding infotainment unit like the one in Elevate. Skoda Kylaq was also shortlisted, but my parents were not confident about owning the Europeans, as they are used to Japanese reliability.

I am happy that these two models are doing well.
